New enemies.

The swamp area has been in the game for a while just never showed it because it lacked enemies.

JKB, just so you know:

With MML3 dead your game is now the only big and worthwhile MM game coming.

I put all my hopes in you now.

I wouldn't say that if I had any doubts about his skills.

How could he disappoint? from the very first post he made he was already presenting far better material than Capcom.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Without Capcom, JKB wouldn't have Megaman X to make a fangame of. I think Capcom deserves a little credit.

I hear a voice in my head telling me I need to finish re-spriting the Mavericks.

This is the Lab stage which has mixed elements on it.

When did I say otherwise...? All i said was that he's just showing a hell of a lot more creativity and innovation with Mega Man than capcom.

you and me both.

BTW, if I remember this right, from what JKB said on X9, it can shoot straight down and diagonally. And follows you vertically.

I notice the X5 vine enemy, and the X5 flower enemy. (only it's doing the Mega Tortoise thing instead of shooting out spiders)

yeah. looks cool.I like the roots on that tree.

Finally you agree with me that

SNES X aesthetics > PS1 X aesthetics

Glad you finally saw the light

Flame

I never had anything against ANY aesthetics. And no, I still find PSX X series looked better than SNES X series. the PSX was possibly the peak of the  X series. The X series looked great. (I mean character sprites wise)

I just find that for an actual game, they shouldnt be using outdated sprites, when the PSX style works on the same 16 color limit per character, and yet looks much better and more detailed. just LOOK at X3's armor sprite. it looks terrible. and the X3 armor is one of my favorite armor designs.

plus with the SNES limitations, you can still make a much better looking "SNES" styled X game, like that mockup posted some time ago.

Blackhook

X1 looked ok as did X2...X3 was as bland as you can get, but overall it was consistent. The graphics in the PSX games while the graphics looked nice separatetly, in game they kinda clashed. Especially when they were using CGI with sprites. It didn't mesh too well.

Flame

Oh no, the pre renders definitely were bad... X5 is the biggest offender there- i think X6 did it too, but not as much. or at least I didnt notice it as much. I preferred when everything was pixel pushed, backgrounds included. (like X4's volcano)

Acid

Now you're speaking of something... I always found ugly.
Yeah prerendered backgrounds + sprites were ugly. At least in some of the X games.

Which I find weird because I'm generally a fan of prerendered BGs. In RPGs and survival horros games at least.

JKB Games

Making X4-X6 style sprites is a lot harder and more time consuming than X-X3. I also wouldn't find that many people willing to help make that style.
But I do prefer x-3 style over the x4-6.
