Here follows the changes for each difficulty level.

It looks like the charge shot takes up it's own weapon energy, or is that either a weapon you pick up or a special weapon that comes equipped on the Phoenix Buster?

btw, because I'm lazy, have you decided on the whole set of armor thing, or are you sticking with just the Phoenix and Ultimate armor?

All weapons have energy meters, but buster types (regular buster and armor busters) and Zero Saber auto refills. But you might think that it doesn't make sense to have the bar since it refills.
On first levels, the refill rate is not that good and charged shots need an X amount of energy to begin charging.
For Zero is different, his recharge is very slow; the faster way to regain it is by slashing enemies. Normal slashes don't cost WE but special skills do.

EDIT: About the armor question, I would like to add the Strider Armor if I get the chance or help editing the sprites.

LOL! I tried to make more sense by describing it as shoot rate instead of shoot delay (the way I actually programmed it), anyway I changed my post. Thanks.

Ah, I see, so it's meant to make things more difficult. I guess that's explains it, but now the question is, is it worth it to actually charge up the busters? It seems like in a lot of Mega Man X games, it was better to just dash and then shoot since it dealt the same amount of damage. Are you going to go by a similar system like the Zero games where the buster deals a significant amount more damage per charge level?

And what do you mean by Strider Armor? ?.?

Flame

Oh my god that thing took out a cannon driver with one [tornado fang]ing charge shot.
awesome.
also, so Cain has kicked the bucket huh.
damn maverick floor cleaners! 2 cookies whoever recognizes the quote.
also, im no good spriter, but id be interesed in making some artwork of that Phoenix armor...

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

STRIDER? You mean Strider Hiryu? Because that would be awesome beyond words. I will draw that.

I'm trying to code the game as close as possible to the original, but that doens't mean I will add it's exploits and glitchs also =p.

With Buster lvl1 the damage is 1(regular shot), 3, 5, 7, ?(no real way to calculate the damage for the last charge).
with that in mind here are a few reasons why the charged shots are worth it.
1. The damage will go up by percentage so the regular shot will be very weak compared to charged shots.
2. Charged shots has piercing ability, that means if an enemy with 3 health shot with lvl 3 charge will die and the buster will keep going with the extra 2 damage.
3. The charged shots are bigger, makking it easier to hit enemies.
4. Skill points can be used to upgrade damage and reduce the charge time.
5. I don't know about you, but I have to be holding a button while playing =p.

Strider Armor is just a prototype name, not even started.

Why would you think that Dr. Cain is dead? I'm sure people can easily record holograms at that time.
Feel free to do any art work from the game, just don't expect that I'll be adding them in it (haven't decided if I'll add any artwork).

PowerArmor

JKB Games

Cool, I would like to see that myself.

Flame

BTW, is there going to be any alternate forms for Zero? id kill to see a black SNES Zero. (or, just for the heck of it, Gold. 8D ) Blue X3 Zero also looks very kickass. (enter a stage with the zero code and hell be blue because hes replacing X.)

Acid

Black Zero would just be a recolor. What's so great about that?

=/

JKB Games

This is what I have going.

Not much of a difference but better than just a recolor.

Acid

I think mouth protectors look cool.

Flame

I think your right.
also, is there a name for that Zero armor/upgade/etc?

Acid

Purple Purgatory Zero.

Or PP0.

Flame

that sounds pretty awesome. though it would make an even awesomere attack.

"purple purgatory"

...

somehow that reminds me of a porn movie title.

It's just a prototype design, right? Way too little difference, currently...

Protoman Blues

I'd go with Shinobi Zero, but that's just me.

Rather not say at this time.

It will remain like that. Makking a more complex design would require too much of my time, Zero has way more sprites than X. There is only so much that one can do.

Night

Make it look more like a mask rather than a mouth guard, like the shadow armor...

Acid

Or leave it that way and focus on techniques rather than upgrades.

Flame

or, you could go the route of Megamissions, where all that really changes on Zero is his shoulders and buster. though I understand your keeping Zero busterless right?
yeah. id say maybe do something with the shoulders.
also, are there going to be things like bonuses, such as unlockable characters (if the sprites are there,) like they did in IHX? Id kill for an X1 armored Zero. Id even give spriting a sheet for hom a try. (hey, spriting 16 bit is a heck of a lot easier than 32 bits.)
