Don't do that to yourself.
You'll regret it.
I know I do.

Overhyped bullshit is overhyped. It's only saving grace was that Jesper Kyd made the music for it, and it seems that's not the case anymore.

Then again, feel free to try it, but please do not touch the first one, since the story of the games is crap anyway, you can easily skip it. It's tne worst one I believe.

I'm fine with that. I'm not really in it for the story. I'm more considering it for the gameplay.

Streets of Rage.  Mostly Streets of Rage Remake, but the original Megadrive ones as well, to a degree.

I played all Streets of Rage games recently, and loved 1 and 2. Really cool music and solid gameplay. 3 wasn't too great IMO.

Finished Powered Up with Rock (Mega) and Fire Man. Both were a breeze after Guts Man.

Today I beat Mega Man & Bass (GBA), played as Bass.

I used to think this game was crazy stupid hard, but after playing Powered Up with Robot Masters, it's just crazy hard. And that's with Bass, who has virtually no platforming issues in his run. The fortress is quite possibly the hardest in the classic series. I cheesed through, though, bought a ton of extra lives and some parts.

Still trekking through Borderlands 2. Sorta slowed down on it a bit and picked up Unreal Tournament 3 and Killing Floor on the side.

Quote from: JustAFan on November 03, 2012, 06:16:56 AMHeavily considering picking up the Assassin's Creed series. Any words on that guys?
Don't even bother with the 1st one. 2 improves on it every way. If you like that then Brotherhood adds some new stuff but isn't that big a leap. I haven't played Revelation but only people that are really that big fans cared for it, from what I hear. And 3 I have no idea about.

Personally I enjoyed 2 a fair bit, but my biggest issue with the games is how badly executed the stealth aspects tend to be. Even when doing things properly, it still involved killing a crapton of guards or being more trouble than its worth. Getting over that and just trying to play it as a sandbox game of sort made it more enjoyable for me at least. My stealth standards have just gotten really nitpicky since playing the Thief series. Speaking of that, if you enjoy Dishonoured, then you should totally play Thief, which is probably its biggest influence in a lot of ways.

I haven't played all of 1 yet, but 2 was [tornado fang]ing fantastic.

3... you have to play Bare Knuckle 3 to get the full experience there. Sega censored the [parasitic bomb] out of SoR3.

I mainly used Blaze, she is the best character, after all.

I *KNEW* that Dishonored felt familiar...!

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

2 really was amazing. I played mostly as Axel, so I still have a lot to uncover. His Shoryuken move is so overpowered, I love it!

My problem with 3 is that it's super unbalanced... :\ Enemies appear by the thousands, and you don't deal too much damage yourself. And the areas/music didn't appeal as much to me. It was kind of a tedious experience.

Again, 3 got [tornado fang]'d in the US. They made it much harder than it should be. The music is... interesting to say the least. I've not played the whole game yet but Dance Club is pretty [tornado fang]ing repetitive. Still like being able to dash. All beat-em-ups need that.

I do like how some stages have alternate paths and such. That was pretty cool.

Downloaded a few source mods. More on that as it develops.

But GOD DAMN FFCC Crystal Bearers! If I wanted to sit back and watch you guys I'd just turn off the game and turn on Netflix. I mean I know JRPGs are riddled with cutscenes but this is frickin' ridiculous.

Oh, I forgot to mention a friend finally convinced me to pick up Halo CE. Last couple times I played this was on the Xbox with my older brother around when it finally came out and then again a few years later with my friend. Seems I suck significantly less on the PC. Big surprise there.

As for the mods, I picked up:

Gateways: Basically a fun distraction. Not much in the way of plot.
G-String: Yeah I don't know what they did with the title... But it's not about panties. The plot's pretty darn good though, although I don't feel like explaining it.
Riot Act: Basically one of those "from the eyes of someone else" things, like in the original HL expansions. This one's during the Nova Prospekt assault during HL2.
Missing Information 1.6: Basically a compilation of all the junk from the Beta HL2.

Other than that, still playing MineCraft, and still not playing any decent MMOs.

That reminds me of a joke from a while back:
"Final Fantasy X is the best movie I've ever played."

Well, I did say "from a while back."  But I can imagine the same can be said for the more recent non-MMO releases, as well.  I mean, why would Squeenix change things now?  Right?

What.

I just watch.

Oh well I'm probably never gonna play any of the regular FF games past VI anyways.

Archer

Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection and Tales of Xillia 2.

Also all the music is completely replaced with tracks used in Budokai Tenakichi, since the game's original OST was made by that guy who was discovered to be plagiarising or whatever for DBKai's OST.

Granted, I MIGHT download VII sometime, I honestly just don't want to. I'm not that big on the FF series anyways.

IX is too [tornado fang]ing slow. Seriously.

I tried replaying it recently and the battles moved slower than a tortoise.

Not sure how I ever stood it.
