Decided to give La Mulana a try again, and once I learned how to save and that I can teleport to the other dungeons I started enjoying the crap out of the game.
I ocasionally play Spiral Knights too, not bad but the goddamn energy is too expensive :-|
To save your game, you need to buy an MSX ROM in the game called [Game Master]. It's in one of the shops in the Surface area at the beginning of the game for 10 coins. Once you have it, equip it to one of your MSX slots and talk to Elder Xelpud to save your game. [Game Master] can only let you save on Slot 0, however; you have to find [Game Master 2] if you want to save in all save slots.
For teleporting through the different areas of the game, you need: the Hand Scanner (again it's in one of the shops in the beginning of the game); the Grail (it's in the Guidance Gate, first area of La-Mulana); the and the Glyph Reader (without it, you can't activate the teleporters), which costs you 100 coins. A good way to rack up some money is find some pots in the Guidance Gate and smash them for the 10 coins they have, return to the Surface, save, re-load your game, repeat.
Back on topic: Still playing Beat Hazard Ultra, Bayonetta, and Symphony of the Night. I just re-started playing
Iji after my PC's system restore killed it and still figuring out what am I suppose to do in La-Mulana.
