Wish I could paint like you.

I could if I knew what brush tool to use.  And the exact settings.  And how to make the colors.

Exactly. You should be able to do something cool with the default SAI brushes, there´s no need to mess with any of the settings.

Well, with Photoshop I do a few tinkering with the brush settings but nothing too complicated. The only things I got to touch are the pen pressure option for either brush size or opacity, and the spacing, which isn´t at 0px by default for some reason in the round brushes.

I still should try with textured brushes and more complicated stuff, but that´s for some other time...

I don't remember.  I just had to keep resizing my brush size and switching from water color to brush mode.

I know there's a better method to coloring like that but I can't figure it out.  I've seen people paint the whole background a solid color before, and use that as their darkest shade.  Which would probably be useful, because my brush keeps mixing in the whiteness from outside my colored space.

Blimey! These are awesome! I'm currently trying to learn with SAI. I kinda got tired of using the pen tool in Photoshop and wanna practice drawing with a tablet. Any tutorial sites for a newbie?

That´s what hotkeys are for. I use the , and . to decrease and increase the brush size, and then use a separate letter for each type of brush.

The water tool works as a weird mix of the smudge tool from PS and a low opacity brush, so you should work from the inside of the color and use the white bg to fix the outline. It´s a great tool to mix a few colors here and there to make the pic more lively. Your drawing looks really nice though.

I really don´t know of any tutorial for SAI, so I wouldn´t be able to point you to any useful one.

So, as you can all tell by the activity in this thread, I haven´t done anything in a while, so I suddenly felt like drawing some random dude. Got bored halfway thru though, like I always do :\

I´ll probably finish it some other time.

And another robot. I´m trying to define the design of an old sketch a bit more...

That is a REALLY awesome robot design.  Kinda like a Toxic Seahorse cousin, but more bad-ass!
