Honestly it looks awful, and this is coming from someone who is willing to look past the generic art style of the Survivor series.

The artstyle is actually closer to the "Fire Emblem" one... the characters look a lot like the Fire Emblem: Awakening characters (visually of course).

It looks like a brand new IP.

The battle system and tone does not convey Fire Emblem or SMT. It doesn't look like the Devil Survivor series, either; way too nauseating and upbeat.

And don't get me started on the music.

I was kinda hoping for a strategy RPG mixing elements of Majin Tensei spin offs and Fire Emblem games and see a bunch of classic characters from every part of both franchises interact. I just wanted to see the Demi-Fiend wreck everything and everyone again.

((And I bet no one even remembers Majin Tensei, stupid whipersnappers and their Devil Survivors *shakes fist* ))

When I first saw the trailer, I didn't notice anything distinctly SMT or FE about it. At best, I recognized Tiki, but I didn't care enough to rewind the video at the time and just assumed otherwise.

Fun fact is that Persona is technically not supposed to be branded as a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei, but the original Megami Tensei, and in Japan was known as "Megami Ibunroku Persona", only sharing the "Megami Ibunroku" brand with Devil Survivor. In Japan, this game is titled Gen'ei Ibunroku♯FE, which pretty much cements the fact that this crossover is now Persona/Devil Survivor and not SMT, despite initially being teased as such way back in 2013.

I actually originally wondered why they chose SMT instead of Persona to crossover with Fire Emblem. The target audience of SMT is mature, whereas Persona and Fire Emblem are more the teenage anime crowd. Can't really say I'm surprised they made the switch, but I am surprised by how loosely related it seems to be.

Nope. Maybe if all the games they were making were terrible, sure. But all the P4 games have been good so I see no need to complain.

Glad you like them, for me it's attention being taken away from other Atlus titles. Less this more Raidou Kuzunoha please, I will always welcome new adventures of Awesome Hat.

Eh I would agree I am getting tired of the Persona 4 overload, even though it is my favorite Persona game.

But really I think this is less of Persona 4 being too popular but rather Raidou Kuzunoha being too obscure, even for an Atlus title, especially since there's only 2 games. Any other Atlus titles I can really think of are more standalone honestly.

I've been way off with Devil Survivor 1 and only gotten of the game's endings. Part of the reason for putting it was getting my team's asses kicked by Lucifer. The other is knowing that there's the updated 3DS version that I could get if I ever get a 3DS. I might look into playing P3 or 4 one of these days.

Finished Persona 4 three times, the gold version twice; played the fighting game on and off and played Persona Q or what ever it's called. Ready for Persona 5 or something else SMT themed personally.

I have Golden available, but I'd much rather play something I haven't touched before to be honest. Or play the PS1 Suikoden games or something.

Bring on Persona 5 and whatever other SMT-centric game, I say.
