And that's exactly why they're trying to market Miku
outside of the communities she's already established in.
I mean, from where you're standing (the internet), it might seem that Miku has a gigantic Western fanbase, but it's pretty damned tiny compared to what a regular popstar that holds concerts would have. Because most normal English-speaking people don't listen to Jpop. Or Jrock. Or Jwhatever Because it's J.
Would you blow a huge bunch of money setting up the technology to hold a concert somewhere where you don't have an established fanbase to attend it? I thiiiink not.
