I support the Japanese Guy as well, the guy should be awarded a medal for trying to achieve what many people wished to see in the future (Humanoid Robots capable of Feelings and whatnot.) I hope he succeeds.

I share your fear, of mannequins I mean. That thing 's gonna give me nightmares.

I also support the Japnadian and hope he is able to make the robo girl walk. The sooner he does, the sooner we can get super fighting robots and super hyper war mechs with drills...
or the closer we get to our own demise. Then again...

Also, fighting robots? screw that, just a robot chick that can autonomously walk and do stuff would be fine. Actual humanlike AI's a plus.
Though Aiko is pretty close. She responds depending on where you touch her. If you do so inappropriately, she slaps! And she can tell the difference between a touch and a tickle. Thats pretty advanced.

I hope the guy actually manages to get that sponsorship he wants!

Have you seen "Jules"? he's a guy robot, english, built specifically for comunicating. So he makes some pretty lifelike facial movements and tones.
