Sure, Balance so you don't catch every single goddamn thing easily, but when Legendaries troll you with 3 shakes then break followed by no shakes at all for like 6 Ultra Balls its really frustrating.

Prof. gives it to you right after you beat the 8th Gym Leader.

Top left hand corner in the Castelia City Poke Center is a man in a black suit and glasses. 50 trades = 1 master ball. Good luck with it though, since most people trade patrats for Zekroms!

Luckly I started off the trades with a few friends (3 trades, one being a back-and-forth trade. That should leave about 47 people left, and add Solar to the people trade list if I ever reach post-game before the next global event catching Thundurus).

Nope. Traded with a friend like 30 something times when we realized it only counted once.

Hmm, I need a Thundurus in the future.

Well, as Akamaru pointed out, there's a great increase of Legendaries out there. But, it would've been helpful if they were nice enough to include the extra masterball in the other games too legally.

It counts trade sessions. Just continue to interact repeatably after each trade in the Union Room, and the 50 will stack up fast.
Either that, or use your iR.

So here I was thinking that I had to agree with Archer and admit there was no -blam-ing reason for Dream World except maybe the starters they might release exclusively. Then I see you can get a Dratini that eventually evolves into a Dragonite with the ability Multiscale. When at full heal, damage from an attack is only 50%. Way better than Inner Focus. Only problem is that I might have to spend at least 2 weeks doing the DW to get enough points to get there. So here's to a heartfelt emotion, "[tornado fang]"...

It's also the only way to plant any berries at all this gen.

Honestly, quite a few Pokemon get tons of benefits from the Dream World abilities.  I don't really think that Multiscale is that great, though.  Reason being is that after switching into an entry hazard the ability is null and void.

Edit: Just because I leave my damn game on Sleep Mode means my time is all the way in the 74 hr zone, I've probably only played 4 of those hours. My Soul Silver isn't even that high on time!

It's one random variable in the already complicated catch formula. I don't understand why it's dumb; if anything, it makes things easier on those of us who like catching everything in Pokeballs.

On rare occasions, a thrown Pokeball (any kind) will spin in the air (either before or after it sucks up the Pokemon) and catch it immediately with no shakes. I don't know how rare it is, though.
