Typhlosion is the single Pokemon who most makes me miss the old "stat experience" system. It made mixed attackers a lot more viable, and a Fire-type with both Thunderpunch and Earthquake could bust a lot of heads. These days that's not practical anymore unless you use Flare Blitz as your STAB move, which means lots of recoil and, in Typhlosion's case, ignoring his stronger attack stat.
Yeah I kinda miss how EVs and stats didn't matter as much as it does now. I mean this is the very reason I'm training 10 pokemon, and possibly more when White comes out, so I can cover my weaknesses and such. The only problem I'm having is that I don't have enough Special Sweepers I mean the only ones I have that emphasizes a high Special Attack stat are Lucario, Roserade and Gardevoir. I mean that might be my only true weakness since the rest are mostly geared for Physical Attacks: Feraligater, Mammoswine, Absol, Salamance, Metagross and Salamance. Blaziken and Lucario can go either way but I think it'd be better for them to work with the strengh they work best with.
Another problem I'm having is that 3 of my pokemon are part fighting so, except for my Lucario and Gallade when it comes to Psychic attacks, they mostly have the same weaknesses. And then there's Absol and Lucario together even though it was only for the GoRPM pokemon arc I'm never going to make that mistake again.
Plus I'm so insane that I'm going to train some of the same pokemon with a few alterations once I get enough dittos with certain stat and I think I'll mate 2 of them together soon.
Although I'm thinking that these pokemon can possibly beat Will Gallent's pokemon when I'm finished with them since I have 3 tanks and he only has a partial one which is his Metagross and I'll probably have to match mine against his since it'll probably be the only pokemon that can witstand his Explosion. I hope I can beat him, his new team, and his rabid Eevees on EV steroids!
You want to talk AI abuse? Fighting against Blue, I had Jirachi wall his Exeggutor, soaking up enough Leaf Storms to send his Special Attack through the floor, then Flash his accuracy into nothing. Switch in Dragonite, build up SIX Dragon Dances, and enjoy the destruction.
The *ONLY* reason that was not a clean sweep was two Intimidates and a Roar later (I was using Extremespeed for accuracy; didn't have Dragon Claw or Outrage). Nevertheless, wiping up the broken pieces of his team after that was easy pickings.
Huh it kinda reminds me of that one pokemon battle with Will and another one of my friends against 2 more of my friends. Will and the other guy won with both of their Dragon pokemon using Outrage and Will's Metagross using Explosion. All of them were out of pokemon except for Will who still had 2 pokemon in wait. Oh and it might [acid burst] you off that Will's dragon type is a Garchomp.
Plus my gym battles latly seemed to be me fighting againsted them with unEv trained pokemon, under leveled, and making their strongest pokemon run out of PP for their strongest moves and healing them with a vast supply of potions.
