Replace Link or Mario with Lucina and it'd get faker. Everyone expected Robin and Chrom at most, not Lucy.

I thought nobody expected Robin and everyone thought Lucina would be a Marth skin as well as Chrome getting in.

AFTER Lucina was confirmed everyone thought she'd just be a straight clone. Chrom and MAYBE Robin was the prediction.

Everything about that segment was too good. Also shoutouts to the Takamaru Mii outfit. That WILL be bought with the swiftness.

Yeah when I saw that Takamaru costume during the Stream I was shocked, though the Tails one still slightly stings for me, not the kind that would make me butt hurt like everyone with K. Rool and Lloyd. Though in that case it does make sense for Lloyd since I feel he would have been more likely to have been in since Symphonia is one of the popular Tales games and would have been perfect for a Smash with Namco involvement. 

K. Rool I kind of share similar opinions with Ridley but to a lesser extent since I feel he would make more sense than Ridley.  I do admit we do need more villains though, and since Final Fantasy is possible now I nominate Golbez for the next game.  I honestly wouldn't think Sephiroth would be possible for the same reason Sakurai didn't put in Ridley, Project M fan mod aside, they would have to shorten the Masamune since it would be half the size of most stages and unwieldy as [tornado fang].  Golbez would probably be the most relizable FF villan in my opinion, though Kuja would probably also be an idea, because why not at this point.  Also wouldn't mind a playable Kain or Eggman *hint hint*.

It's funny.  After Cloud was announced, literally ANYTHING was possible so long as it was a game character.  Now that the final video is over, so too are the endless possibilities.

At least, if we actually believe this is the end.  Sakurai may say so, but plans change, Nintendo may have other ideas, etc.  Hey, a guy can still dream.

I will say that despite never playing Bayonetta, I am pleasantly surprised that she made it in.  I was honestly shocked that she won the ballot (or the most popular "negotiable character" anyway, which means whoever actually won was either ineligible or would not cooperate).  Corrin is, eh, interesting.  I appreciate a dragon-transforming character, for sure, and I guess it's as close to seeing a Laguz in the game as we'll ever get.  My main problem with Corrin, and ditto for Robin, is that Smash cannot truly be a faithful representation of the character, because it is an avatar character that is meant to be customized on a level well beyond what Smash allows.

I can't speak for Corrin but Robin is pretty faithful to his/her behavior in Fire Emblem. They aren't speechless avatars any more. The MUs have become actual characters.

I think he was talking more about character movesets than the characters themselves since I'm assuming the Avatars have much more in their disposal than what's shown in said move set.

Nah, I wouldn't say so. Again - I can't speak for Corrin, but Elwind, Arcfire, Nosferatu, and the Thunder set + Bronze/Levin Sword are pretty well representative of Robin. (At least, in my four to five runs of Awakening.) I mean, sure there's other spell sets and equipment but there's only so much you can do.

That's not what I mean.  I've played through Awakening three times, and "Robin" did not exist in any of them.  Body, hair, face, voice, and name are all meant to be player-determined to create a character unique to that player.  Robin, therefore, is an interesting and original combatant in Smash (and his/her arsenal is an excellent representation of the Tactician/Grandmaster class, no complaints there), but holds no significance to me beyond that.

For referencing Awakening, Smash could have EASILY rectified this by instead using Morgan, who has identical abilities to My Unit and a more standard appearance/identity (only gender and hair color change, both of which are well within Smash's limitations).  They simply chose not to.

I admit I would have liked something other than pigtails or at least brown hair as an option, like I said I really hate Robin's color options.
