They can easily retool Mewtwo. Easily.

Even if it was just a difference like with Mario and Luigi who are mechanically similar but still play very differently.

Be patient, Mewtwo.  Your return will be glorious.  It's simply not something that can be rushed.  Perfection takes time.

It's not like Smash hasn't had clone characters in the past either, no reason to believe Mewtwo won't be in the game in some form or another.
Irrelevant, Lucario and Mewtwo are not clones.  They share two comparable attacks in their entire arsenal.

Back when Brawl came out, Mewtwo wasn't in anything recent.

Now he's been prominently featured in a movie, was the focus of the whole second half of Origins's last episode, and has two Mega Evolutions in X/Y.

I think there's much more chance for his return now.

And Lucario's inclusion is not at all a sign of Mewtwo's exclusion in any way, shape, or form. All Lucario's inclusion guarantees is that you'll be able to play as Lucario. That's it.
Agreed.  It's just that *IF* Mewtwo is excluded, it will suck royally.  Lucario's presence and ignorance such as the above makes me all the more anxious to see Mewtwo confirmed.

..and this is coming from someone who is willing to ignore how conspicuously late Yoshi's Smash reveals always seem to be.

As I said, perfection takes time.  Mewtwo is the ultimate Pokemon.  His SSB return needs to reflect his power.  Thus, you can't rush him.  He's training.  Training to be...

Legendary.

He'll be revealed March 14th. Smash 4 is most likely a Q4 release date, so it could be worse I guess.

I don't claim to be a smash master or anything but they basically felt like the same character even if some of their moves were different.

Honestly though, I rarely used Mewtwo in Melee or Lucario in Brawl and I can't say I really care one way or another, I'd rather see other Nintendo characters than another Pokemon, although I can see why Mewtwo is popular.

I'm no tournament player if that's what you mean, but Mewtwo was my second main in Melee after Yoshi.  And as much fun as Lucario was to play as in SSE, he does not play as Mewtwo does.  If anything the character who handles most like Mewtwo is probably Zelda.

I always found Mewtwo a little too floaty for my liking. I mostly used Peach, Toon Link and now Diddy where I troll people with banana peels constantly.  8D

Mewtwo's controls did take a bit to get used to, but once I did, I was dangerous.

He does.  However, he can be hit hard, due to how floaty he is.  But, once you get used to his controls, he's deadly.

Its not in Giant Chicken mode yet its using the Hyper Laser.

This doesn't seem right.

Though looking at it, it seems to be based off of Zero Mission's Mother Brain.

He really does, the animations have really improved over the previous game. It's too bad you can't see these little details most of the times unless you pause though.

I find it hilarious how many people are pissed off at the bat redesign. It's like who cares, it's not like its function changes.

Actually come to think of it, didn't the game pause for a split second when you hit someone hard in Brawl?
