Okay, here's something I've always been curious as to the origins of: those vertical scars over Sigma's eyes. So far, I've found 3 different origins of the scars from 3 different sources:

Origin 1: Zero did it
Source: Cutscene from, I think, X4

Origin 2: X used Shining Finger on Sigma's face (editted)
Source: Day of Sigma OVA

Origin 3: Sigma did it to himself
Source: Rockman X Manga

In all honesty, I think that the most likely one would be Origin 3, since every new body he gets has 'em. Still, what does anyone else make of this? Are there even more origins to Sigma's eye scars? Or has this topic already been done?

Origin 2: X's hand got charge up, he grabbed Sigma's face, and he slashed down

That was a Shining Finger, good sir.

The Shining Finger one is the official one because it's the newest one and because Capcom was the one behind the Day of Sigma >_>

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

It's a combination of all of the above, actually.

Though Zero inflicted a similar wound to one side of Sigma's face, he also tore of the entirety of Sigma's skin on the other. Therefore it would only account for one of the two scars. Furthermore, Sigma had gotten his whole face repaired after the incident. However, his loss against Zero definitely was a crushing blow to his ego and is clearly remembered by him.

It is after X's attack that Sigma left the scars he was dealt with, sort of like a symbolic gesture of how X's influenced Sigma. But in that same way, it is also a symbolic gesture toward Zero, who once inflicted a similar wound. Indeed, as we all know, it were both X and Zero that were unwillingly responsible for Sigma's change of allegiance.

Then, with his subsequent revivals, Sigma's scars never went away; he keeps on re-adding them, reminding X and Zero of their connection.

What the manga showed doesn't apply to the games, though. This is because Day of Sigma presents a completely different scenario of Sigma revealing his rebellion.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

He prolly didin't finish the body on time, to finish the head, like in X6 when Siggy was in near disrepair and looked ready to fall apart.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

As ridiculous as this sounds, X8's artist was mainly concerned with giving Sigma an "official" chin. ::)

Screw you, mongrels! X Manga was/is [tornado fang]ing badass, and will always be OFFICIAL to me.
Also, that scene with Sigma doing this scars to himself was so [tornado fang]ing bad ass I felt like beating my nephew.
IT'S THAT HARDCORE!

Seriously tough... I prefer the manga version. It will forever be true and official in my

ZA HAATO...

I've seen the scan, and regardless of my general indifference to Iwamoto's art style, that scenario simply cannot compare to:

my theory was that X used his hidden power to tear the very fabric of Sigma's DNA Data with the shining finger, which resulted in Sigma having  scars in every body he possessed- his head was the only thing that remained the same- the mark of his DNA and X was so powerful that he altered it.

Sigma's scars change color between the games, though.

That makes sense. Also, X6 Sigma was frickin' easy (with Shadow Armor, at least). It helped that I only really used X so he got all the life-ups.

Still, thanks to Zan for the reason.

Wonder what that means?

His Belial form is only half as emo.

Sigma as a while in X8 barely has the scars. Copy Sigma has those pathetic two lines going past the back of his head. and for Belieal Sigma, it seems more like the Red eye's glow not a scar.
