Hey, has anyone else noticed how the Jewel Satellite rotates much more smoothly than all the other shields in the NES games?  What's up with that?

because its not an NES game. its a Wii game with NES graphics.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

The only thing I don't like about Jewel Satellite is that it goes away when the screen transition, so it's uses are somewhat limited in that it's only good against Uzi Joes and Spark Man/'s stage, as far as supremely awesome goes.

I took Wily out in MM5 with Beat. It was awesome. 2 or 3 hits each time he reappears. Still, to the debate earlier about this wasn't limited to the classic weapons. I think it is, since this is the classic board, right?

They call him the Blue Bomber because... he's blue! Blue blue blue blue blue blue!
In before "if he was green he would die..."

Except that that's not the lyrics to that song. It's "da ba dee, da ba dai". Not words. In fact, on the back cover of the CD box, the song title is even listed as "Blue (Da Ba Dee)"

And yes, I actually own that CD. :D

Shield weapons are among my favorites in the MM games. I liked the Leaf Shield but when you moved, it zoomed off in whatever direction you pointed in. They more or less improved the shields with each game, the exception being the Star Crash, but it did make Crystal Man's stage less infuriating so I gotta give it props for that. Since I haven't played MM9 yet, I can't comment on the Jewel Satelite but it sounds like it's fabulous.

Being able to walk and jump around with a shield that NEVER disappears unless you give command to do that with a button or walk to the next area of a stage, plus killing every enemy that dies with at least 1 or 2 hits IS very fabulous~ ^^

I like it's sound and how Sniper Joes and 9000 other enemies are harmless against it. Also, why is it a satellite? Because the jewels rotate?

But wasn't Star Crash the first shield you could walk around with but also fire off?  (Although you could jump with the Leaf Shield and not lose it.)

I think he means the first one to do both; walking around with it and firing it off.
Then again, you can do both already in RM1. (See Fire Storm)

Not being able to choose what direction you want to throw the Jewel Satellite is my only complaint, although admittedly there aren't too many places one would really need to do that in the game.

And also I guess, that I feel like an idiot when I miss Plug Man with it, since there's only enough energy for the exact right amount of hits. Usually happens when I'm not paying much attention, and I wind up having to scramble for some other weapon. And of course that it won't repel Wily's attacks, but that would be making things too unfair I suppose. I'm not really complaining about these things, just reminiscing.

Otherwise, J. Satellite is golden.

Timing is also important.
If you use it too quickly after one hit, you will waste one Satellite because of Plug Man's temporary invulnerability. o.o

Shorter yes, but you still have to use satellite with exact timing.
Not too fast, or you will lose a satellite.

At least it doesn't fire in three RANDOM directions like the Junk Shield.
