Not the point, the point is that it's a game with SNES aesthetics with anime scenes.
It was still a PSX game. not an SNES game. the actual SNES could never handle X3's cutscenes.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

What? If they continue the story from where X8 left off, (which they better,) theres alot that has changed, alot that might go down, and alot of text.

Not really. Im just one of those people that has his own views on things.
All because Im discontent with Capcom rehashing the past instead of trying something new doesnt mean I hate Megaman.

But if it does, it ceases to be the SNES style.  That was Flame's point.

I'll remind you that PS1/PC X3 also discarded the one thing the SNES did right: sound effects. Who wants that?

To limit yourself strictly to the SNES in a series considerably more evolved than Classic would be foolish.  To mish-mash it would be ugly.  There's simply no need for that.

Now, if your thinking I'm thinking what I think your thinking...

also,
The way I see it, Capcom needs to catch up with the likes of Nintendo and Sega some time. all their major franchises are 3D. Megaman? still stuck in 2D. With a tossed aside 3D formula.

So your saying that an SNES X1-X3 type game, with the same special effects & everything, would suddenly cease to be an SNES style game if they added in Anime Cutscenes?

Megaman? still stuck in 2D

I'D rather see MM stagnating in the NES era for all eternity than seeing it suffer from the same treatment as Sonic.

Oh God, it's the "catch up to modern times" routine now. Flame, I expected better from you man, but whatever I'm out for a bit.

Well, you just gotta get it right, same thing with street fighter, they didn't want 3D because Ex or whatever it is called sucked, but Street Fighter IV did it correctly.
See you CAN make a good 3D sonic or megaman game, you just gotta know how to do so.

I agree with this.

We don't need a were-bot. on a hoverboard. with a sword. and shitty garage band music.

And we don't need a robot attached to his back that sucks up ghastly robots!

..I couldn't resist making a Luigi's Mansion reference here, but transitions from 2D to 3D seemingly have always been a problem. Sonic's one of those that has this problem.  :\

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Metroid Mario and Zelda seem to be doing just fine. Sonic isnt the ONLY 2D gone 3D series out there. and quite frankly, not the biggest either.
Sega =/= Capcom.

Yes. It goes into Saturn/PSX territory.

Even with SNES sprites & sound effects?

And here's a fun thought too: Would the Sonic series have been better all around if they had just kept the S3&K/CD formula going?

I'm think ing that you shouldn't fix what ain't broken. And Mega Man is not broken. At all. If Mega Man doesn't sell anymore Capcom should let it die gracefully instead of trying to [tornado fang] it up.

Rad Lionheart

I should have been more clear about the sword part at least.
And what I meant by "hoverboard" it was just the word that came to mind.

Do you REALLY need to ask this question? The only thing I see happening here would be that Sonic would build itself up a niche much like the current Castlevanias, Megamans, etc.

Hmm, should we make RM prediction again?

Plus, they have new series to try out new graphics/styles/stuff on too.
