Oh, and since I didn't get a chance to talk about this earlier:

I don't even know what I should think of that. @_@

Yeah, um...  To most of the guys here that probably isn't much of a threat.  Or even unpleasant.  >.>

I don't really want either of those games...
Or rather, there are other games I want more.

Dexter Dexter

Although I've never played Legends OR Powerstone, Legends 3. 'Nuff said.

I'd actually be fine with either PS3 or MML3. Though I'd prefer MML3.

Sniper X

I don't know about Powerstone, but I sure want a new Megaman Legends game! 8)

Zandelin

So a possibility of a Megaman Legends 3 sounds fun another Megaman game to add to my collection of beaten Megaman games. Though still I need to finish off the X series once I get my hands on a PS2.

As much as I could definitely go for a DASH 3?

I agree with PB on one thing. If it was between DASH, and a sequel to a franchise that's a bit closer to my heart, like say, Viewtiful Joe? Gargoyle's Quest/Demon's Crest? Strider? Final Fight (FOR REAL THIS TIME!?!)?  ....getting back the rights, so that they can make another Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fighting game?

It'd be no contest, sorry to say. Especially since, for a lot of these games, I've been waiting a helluva lot longer for sequels to these games than I've been for a third DASH. It just be a matter of personal priorities! 8D

Legends 3, so we can stop wondering about what happened after Legends 2. WE NEED A CONCLUSION! It's not fair to keep us hanging this long. Although I do agree some other old Capcom series' could use updates, including Gargoyle's Quest (some old NP's I recently received cover the two games, thus intriguing me), I feel that Legends is the one that needs a new sequel.

Heck, I think they should do it on the DS. Top screen could be persistent map, bottom could be 3-D with camera controls. We already know that the DS is more than capable of doing it, and I think that it is more accessible than the consoles (plus busting Reaverbots into scrap whenever and wherever appeals to me). Pausing could bring the menu down to the bottom screen, and you could use the stylus to scan the map. The control scheme needn't change much either; the only difference is no L2, R2, or joysticks. But, as I said, camera controls could be on the touch screen, a la SM64DS. L and R could handle strafing. Y could be the Buster and X would be the special weapon. A would be whatever Circle did, and B would be jump. Or hold L and use Left and Right to strafe in the indicated direction (Up and Down could hand forward and backward evasive rolls) and R could be lock-on. Well? Thoughts?

tl;dr Legends 3 on DS
L + D-Pad = evasive maneuvers
R = Lock-on
X = Sp. Weapon
Y = MegaBuster
B = Jump
A = Skate, Interact, etc.
Start = Pause
Select = Menu

Top Screen = Map
Touch Screen = Gameplay, Camera controls

It's certainly possible. If they could get a "sequel" to Okami to work on the DS, then SURELY a game based off of the PSX era could likely work on the DS.

Of course, it would probably disappoint those who were expecting a game with full voice, plenty of FMVs, and a game that may actually take DASH's game play and art style to a new level.

To me, a DASH game could stand to benefit much from the best that this new generation has to offer. In other words, Rockman [tornado fang]ing Trigger should NOT control like a tank. In my eyes, the only acceptable means would be to make him a character that's much more mobile...some where between Dante and Mario is the kind of mobility I would like him to have. After all, this is guy is supposed to be the latest, and arguably, most powerful guy who inherited the Rockman moniker. Shouldn't he be privy to plenty of combat and movement options that allow him to realize that potential?  :3

Don't forget they had an N64-era game on the DS since launch.

I actually think the PS1-era Legends controls are pretty awesome.  You have full manual control of both the character and camera at all times without the need to move your thumb off of jumping/firing buttons.  Very convenient once you get used to it; I actually modify Armored Core controls to strafe with the D-Pad so that it mimicks Legends.  It's definitely the most comfortable way to use digital inputs to control a 3D character (I hate DualShock stick locations).

There's also the fact that Trigger invented the invulnerable dodge-roll.  And does it a hell of a lot better than Axl.  As far as maneuverability goes, that's a big one in his favor.

Of course, making a more "modern/general" camera system for movement akin to Mario might be in the best interest of series survival.  As much as I love the controls I know the rest of the world doesn't feel that way.  Maybe they could do both and let you switch in the options.  I know they tried to be accommodating for both styles in Misadventures and L2.  There is the issue, however, of if the controls are modified so that you no longer will be turning while standing still, how tumble-dodges will be handled, since that's part of how you activate them.

Heck, I think they should do it on the DS.
I'd still rather see Wii, but this isn't a bad idea.  One thing, though: If the game is not touch-controlled, the action should be on the top screen, and bottom screen should be your map/status, not the other way around.  It's awkward, for me at least, to be ignoring the top half of the system when that's where the sound is coming from.  Most devs seem to agree, looking at various Mario and MegaMan titles that are already out there.  This is especially important if you're going to shoot for SM64DS-esque "analogue" movement as an option (although it's not one that I'm fond of), since:
A. Whatever you're using to operate the touch-screen will obstruct your view, and:
B. Since the touch-screen is not circular and has no tactile feel as to where the "middle" is, a visual display of where the neutral location is (SM64DS does this) is pretty much necessary.

enough of my inner fanboy rage, sure hope the next game will have Protoman in it. I'd buy it just for that.  *o*

This topic really makes me realize that Megaman news is damn scarce. That's such a sad thing.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.
