Well I did reference Sapphire earlier so I guess that you can do Emerald/Ruby.

Okay I guess the way it could work is that Archie was already insane when Emerald came around, since exposure to the Orbs causes insanity, while Maxie had some sort of hidden agenda in Sapphire and then became insane in Emerald.

But you can get Groudon in Emerald too.
