The biggest contender for sequelitis is not actually mega man, but Super Mario, and to an extent, Sonic the Hedgehog and other series just as large (five cartoon series, wow! Not even Mega Man can compete against that!). Think about it with all of their spinoffs, yet nobody really complains. I remember the '06-'08 "Too much Mega Man" thing, which is really ironic imo.

If the game wasn't pure fan service and they didn't have the random conversations in serious situations I think it would have been okay.  The plot it self was fine but man did the fan service and unadulterated randomness ruin it.  I also didn't appreciate the Wii cussing so much, I understand it's supposed to be the opposite of what the Wii is but I'm pretty sure there's more ways to convey that opposite personality beyond the vulgarity you hear about from people who talk about the FPS pre adolescent fan base.
