Honestly, if this is a true return to Genesis-style Sonic gameplay, I will go out and buy a [chameleon sting]ing 360. I'll get the money somehow and do it. I've been waiting years for Sonic to return to true 2D, sidescrolling gameplay on a console for years. This will be a dream [tornado fang]ing come true! If Sonic Team messes this one up... Let's just say they won't be able to ever fully clean up the mess I make in the Sega offices.

I did like Blaze, though... In Rush, not in Sonic Next Gen. They butchered her in that game. Way to destroy the only good female character in the series, Sonic Team.

frankly, they became annoying as well after SA2. Amy i was never a fan of. but they are higher on the pecking order than, say, Charmy and Silver.

Silver has kinda grown on me. I like picking up the apple barrels and throwing them around, then throwing the apples in 06.

In Sonic Rush she was the 2nd story character. Yeah, it was her and Sonic.So you had to play as her and Sonic to fully beat the game.
But in the sequal you could play as her and Sonic... which i didn't. Sonic all the way! I mean sure Blaze is stronger in attack, but there is one thing you wanna do in a Sonic game.
Run fast.

Also, for those worried its not Sonic, it is. Overlay Sonic 1's title screen with the trailer image. They match up. Sonic's got his finger wag on.

Otherwise, I couldn't really care too much yet. I wanna see it in action. If it looks great, I will be stoked. I've just been burned too many times, though. Everything after Heroes, minus Rush Adventure (And that was only in replays) has just been terrible. Except Unleashed. I can't comment on Unleashed.

Oh, I see!  So in the original timeline, Dr. Eggman looked more realistic throughout the entire series, but now with Solaris out of the picture, he's gotten extra fat and cartoony.

I like how the figure in the emblem doesn't look like Sonic.

I think what we're seeing is Sonic's head overlapping the circular part of the emblem, and a couple of rays of light appear to be creating an edge on the circle where there isn't one.  So that's not a hat or someone else's head, it's just where the magical rays happened to be.
