Mega Man was supposed to have his own series on the PSX and was to be the main character but they decided Mega Man would not be recognizable so they created Mega Man X with Mega Man as the co star but nevertheless Mega Man ironically became poular and even had his own downloadable on Wii. It is not to say that Mega Man isn't awesome but still why couldn't stick with that? how it would have been different if Mega Man was the main character?

Answer: The games would've been harder because dashing is for pussies.

how does dashing make a game easier? it just speeds it up.

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

1994: Rockman's Soccer / Mega Man's Soccer
1995: Rockman 7 / Mega Man 7
1998: Rockman & Forte

Yea, in Tengu Man's stage maybe, but not here.

You can dash in every single stage, with Forte. Rockman is sliding.
And the returning robot masters wasn't only Tengu Man, but also Astro Man.

Stop failing please...

Because you can dash jump out of it, & you can fire concurrently.

Yea, Mega Man & Bass was never on the SNES. SFC maybe, but not SNES. & I really wouldn't consider Mega Man Soccer to count as "the series". More like "fun off-shoot".

Yea I know. I was referring to where Tengu Man's stage is on the map.

SFC is SNES. Even Europe has the same cartridge shape as the SFC cartridges. It doesn't matter if you don't agree with that. The "Fun off-shoot" is still a Classic series game. It's like saying "Power Battle" and "Power Fighters" doesn't count as "the series" either, specially when the second games ties in the X series together with the Classic series.

More about this, it speeds you up, but not the enemies. It's a huge difference.

No, they don't. Not in my opinion at least. They're mad fun, but their storylines, other than the Zero fan service at the end of Power Fighters, add nothing new to the series. They're just recycled concepts. There aren't even stages.

I'm still confused at to the point of this topic.  If it's to say that the Classic series games are harder than the X series games, the fact is that both are pretty easy.  The X series is easier because of the ability to charge the Stolen Weapons, not the dashing.

Bag of Magic Food

If they didn't invent dashing, then MegaRockMan could have gotten a super-speed slide-jump, where he flips completely over from sliding position to jump with super speed.

Eh, that depends on the game.

It sounds so cool. I hope it looks as ridiculous as I imagine it. Use Mega Man 8 sprites so he's convulsing.

Eh, that depends on the game.

It does depend on that game, cause one can argue that MegaMan 5 for the NES is easier than any X game, due to the fact that you don't even need the weapons at all with how powerful the Buster is in that game.  However, if we're sticking to SNES MMX games, charging weapons absolutely make the game easier, when you have Invinco-shield, Phazing powers, and Time Slow.  You don't even need to dash if you have those charged weapons

Keno

I would compare buster to buster, & dashing makes a buster a whole lot more dangerous.\

I think it's better to compare the hardest with the hardest. Any GB MM or Mega Man & Bass can give even X6 & X7 runs for their money.
