What I would like to know is if these are going to be physical media for the DSi (carts), firmware upgrades (possible but not likely), or most things are in the browser already.

Either way, the DSi plot thickens once again.

MTV got their hands on the DSi for a good 30 minutes, and in that time they managed to check out two DSi titles. The first title was Art Style: Decode, and the second was Wario War Snapped. Art Style: Decode went by the same name in Japan, and Wario Ware Snapped is the localized version of Utsusu Wario Ware. Unfortunately, no release dates were given for these games.

In other words, look at the DSi as the GB Color of the DS.

GB Color didn't kill backwards compatibility.

This is more like the Wii to the GCN, replacing the massive controller upheaval with a couple of low-res cameras (there are two; one on the outside and one on the hinge). The CPU speed is definitely faster, but the "legacy" mode limits it when playing DS games. Makes me wondering whether or not DSi-specific carts will be in the future.

And oh yeah, it breaks old flash cards, but as you'd expect the shadowy boys already have new products on the way.

I like the Idea of a Virtual Console for GB/GBC/GBA, then I can finally get the games I wanted for those systems! (Good thing I got a lot of games for those already!)

To be fair, there is NOTHING official about a portable Virtual Console. It's just rabid speculation for which Nintendo will likely have to answer to a crowd of torches and pitchforks if they don't follow through.

As of now the DSi offers original downloadable games, and some music/image toys.
