there's also passwords that let you skip Chill Penguin's stage without the leg upgrade

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

My problem with achievements are they're all things you're gonna do anyway with no real challenge. Some of these do have challenge, granted, but some of them are just "wut".
i have some ideas too  >w<

X1

16.down by three - beat the game with the -3 heart tanks password.
(go here for more info http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frYwVuBYZAw)
This sounds like a challenge.

Oh, I'm sure lots of people played Megaman X but quit before they beat all the bosses. The allure of these little icon things might just be what they need to motivate them to struggle on to the finish!

I guess I'm just used to sitting down and plowing through to the end

Except X6. [tornado fang] that game.

Achievement!
wat dis [parasitic bomb]: play games you don't like just so you can get mad achievement cred.

How about this?

X3
19. Limitless Potencial - Beat the game without picking up any upgrades, subtanks and ride armours.

Just something I thought of on the spur of the moment, but perhaps those trivial achievements are aimed at the fairly large %age of people who never beat a game they buy?

Its artificial lengthening and its bad. Plus, just look at the people who buy games just for achievements. I understand you wanna encourage people to play the game, but making every achievement something ridiculously stupid? You should have a few achievements you'll do playing the game anyways, and then actual challenges. Its like how in Garou: Mark of the Wolves has an achievement in which all you have to do is use the Neo Deadly Rave in Arcade Mode. How is that an achievement? You know what an achievement is? Getting all SSS or Miracle ranks in Arcade Mode.

Artificial lengthening? I was only referring to the basic ones like "complete a level" or "complete entire game"... Don't think anyone who doesn't want to play the game is going to be influenced by an achievement.

Well. It won't help if they don't want to play, but it might if they're like me sometimes and just kind of... stop.

You Faker!- Beat the Game as Nightmare Zero

The Red Demon- Beat the game as Zero using only the Saber

We need to make an Omega Zero color mod for X3 now...
that way, we can beat the challenges with the respective achievement Zero color.
Beat the game as Zero- regular Zero
Beat the game as Zero buster only- Black Zero
""                   "" as Nightmare Zero- Nightmare Zero
""                   "" as Zero with Saber only- Omega Zero.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Hows this? its the closest I could get.

the second mid tone you could replace with the one underneath, or use the current one. I dunno.

I know a lot about it myself; I know how to activate the Omega AI, the Slash Blast trick (slash wave comes out without the animation, then the power blast), and how to keep Omega standing still while his head-gem is flashing! 8D Fun mod, it is. Lot easier than normal RMZ3

Long as you got some kind of proof you did it ,yes you may.
YouTube for videos, and either Snes9x inbuilt video capture system or HyperCam2 does a nice job of capturing it.
I recommend either do it in one session and split it or do as i do. One stage at a time.

Damn. Got no way to record my plays. Tried Camstudio once, but that was back in my Rockman 7 FC modding days, and I only got two videos out of it.  X(

I might try Snes9x's video recording. But isn't HyperCam2 a rather disliked recording program?  :\
