If we have the game topic, why not a matching anime and manga thread to go with it eh? It should make sense.

I still remember when Ash first got Pikachu, too bad it went downhill from there in the anime. :/
The manga's a nice touch, especially the one with talking pokemon (can't remember the title, sorry).

Let's see...
I'm still faithfully following the anime (Pokemon DP Battle Dimension season currently).

And I have 2 manga adaptations, Pokemon Special/Adventures (up to Volume 30 currently) and The Electrifying Tales of Pikachu.

I don´t like how they forget about characters during the show. Especialy the Elite four members....the newest ones are presented in the show like the other never existed.....I don´t let me remind you of the "never exisitn" GS poké-ball

But they did show the GS-Ball in the anime. Though the purpose was different.

As for Elite Four, well, Sinnoh's 4 are just more flashy.

Agatha (K4), Lance (K4) and Drake (H4) did make appearances as well.

Of course, all shonen allows them to stay what they are until a 10 yr time gap is needed. remember the Dragonball-to-Z timegap anyone?

Of course, the main female has been replaced like.. three times now (Talkin' Misty, May, and now Dawn)? too bad Pokemon's infamous for not keeping track of it's characters. remember?

But why not changing the male lead...I mean the male counterparts to Dawn/May have never appeared in the show...

Well, there are mini-arcs to introduce back old characters, like Misty in the Hoenn season, and May in the Sinnoh season. Tracy has also appeared a few times when Ash is talking to Prof. Oak.

Brandon (May's counterpart) has appeared in the anime, though as a cameo fighting against the Hoenn Elite 4. Lucas... It's still too early to tell.

Aside the point. It's just now blasting off again in most eps, although more background story may be needed, once and awhile we see some parts of Jame's past, and Meowth's mishaps, and those times where Jessie trades her 'mon to show that trading's still canon.

Ok, I'll admit that the blasting off again is getting a bit... Stale.
However I do still get a laugh or 2 from their while blasting off speeches.

James' past, yep, still has that.
Meowth, ok, that ended in the Kanto season.
Jessie's part, yep, still has that as well.

As for "trading", James no longer has his Cacnea, James and Meowth can break down for seeing true teamwork from the twerps...

I also remembered watching Pokemon, but I stop watching it when the new series came by and it went downhill afterwards. :/ It's a shame really.

And they only cameoed in the movies, ironic is it? How they could easily beat the Elite 4, and yet Ash is shown the door at the end of every saga.

lets see
He destroyed the kanto regions elite 4
Got to meet almost every legendary ( movies )
Saved the earth be going to place back those 3 weird stones for moltres zapdos articuno
Destroyed a Dark celibi and helped suicune
Saw Ho-oh... im not sure how many times now
Saved a mansion from a little girl thinking entei was her father and he saw the unknown
( Soon to be ) will see a arceus
Saved the world from Diagla and Palkia , and giratina
Helped Latios and Latias from destroying a city
Did soemthing with Kyogre Groudon and Rayquaza
Met a lucario and mew , and defeated registeel regice and regirock
Destroyed Jhoto's elite 4
Beat the orange island gym leaders
Won quite a few tournaments
beat the Hoenn gym leaders and elite 4
Will beat the Sinnoh elite 4

And Wanna know what?

Also , you know what there was that mini movie thing with pikachu and all the pokemon helpingthe other jhoto pokemon keep their trash tires and clocks and stuff playhouse together? Wasnt it at the end pikachu got to celebrate ash and its 1rst year of being partners? so doesnt that mean ash would be 11 on that day?

If I recalled correctly, he lost to Drake, and that's the only Elite 4 battle he had.
Since the qualifications for Pokemon League entry is drastically different, anime no longer believes in the Elite 4.
Well, except for the Sinnoh arc, for now... >.>
