A WiiWare game probably won't be that big. They're not gonna waste sales with WiiWare. If we were getting a 2D game as big or bigger than NSMB, they would definitely prefer to release it on the DS or Wii retail.
Then again, they don't have a flagship WiiWare title...

Don't get me wrong, in almost 25 years I've yet to be disappointed by a Mario game. Just a personal preference there.
I still think a Lost Levels version of Super Mario Galaxy would be relatively easy to put together and very profitable.
Think about the 1-Star WTF levels in SMG, like Sweet Sweet Galaxy and the Wiimote gimmick Galaxies. They could easily come up with a compilation of 60+ abstract levels like those without any new graphics or story, just abusing their gravity effects, creating more challenging level design and giving another chance to underused power-ups (hello, Red Star). Like a Super Mario Galaxy appendix.
I would totally buy a whole game made of ice skating racing. Galaxy could use some more ray surfing and rolling ball courses and new bubble mazes. How about an option to store power-ups in an inventory à la SMB3 and use them whenever we want?
