This should come as no surprise. In the credits for 1.5 we could see scenes from the three games in this collection.

Probably because the 3DS is a well-selling system and DDD did quite strongly in sales as well as being fresh on everyone's minds (relatively). It'd be redundant to put such a recent game's cutscenes in instead of the game that everyone can safely ignore without missing out much on the series' story at all but acts as a nice sidedish of nostalgia in the series.

The thing is, some people will buy the collections, having never played a KH game before. Meaning, they would want all the crucial plot points to get them ready for KH3.

Re: Coded is trash and the plot does not matter one bit to the KH series. DDD is an extremely important game that moves the series forward, practically a breath away from the Xehanort saga finale.

There are still many people who don't own a 3DS, whereas almost everyone has a DS, further making Re: Coded's inclusion useless. Not to mention BBS is playable, and DDD uses very similar assets. So we could have had THREE playable titles, perfect for leading directly to KH3.

Wasted opportunity.

Considering they wanted to make Days playable with 1.5 but had time constraints, I don't ever think they'd ever rework Dream Drop Distance to be playable on a different system entirely without the touchscreen mechanics it had several elements designed around. Yeah, Re:Coded is basically a waste of everyone's time, and it is kinda disappointing to some degree, but it's not one ounce of surprise from me.

Yeah, Days would have been much easier to rework to be on a console since there really weren't a lot of things that used the touch screen, and what did use it also used button controls.

3D has a whole major gameplay element revolve around the screen, so it would take a lot MORE work to make it playable on a console, as Nexus said. If they decided to add that, it wouldn't just take another year to do (which is how long they said it would take to remake Days), it would probably be a bit longer than that.

Yeah, 3DHD would have been cool, but... with the amount of work it would take, it just isn't feasible.

Squeenix somehow made TWEWY work on iPhone; a game where the touch screen is extraordinarily important to both gameplay and story.

DDD's touch screen interface is used to a much lesser degree. So, I chalk it up to laziness, on their part. I sincerely doubt that it would be that challenging to make it single-screen based.

Primarily 'gameplay', it looks basically like Kingdom Hearts 2 except they're not flashing the Triangle marker for the seeming Reaction Commands all over. 'Still in development' seems about right, though; a lot of the movement and actions looked stiff or awkward in that Twilight Town scene. Not to mention they're using music directly from KH2, so it seems they're focusing on the gameplay side of things first.

Yeah, it was young Xehanort and Eraqus. The hair is a dead giveaway. That scene definitely shows where Xehanort's path to darkness began, and the "lost masters" are the Foretellers who lead the factions in KHX (that online game).

Also the release date is December 5th for EU regions.
