I had never been to a con before and not only that when I see pictures of users who did, I feel sort intimidated to go because you are face-to-face with a guy who created your favorite show, game or etc. Plus, all the cosplayers who participate in these conventions and all the swag that they sell. How do you guys deal with that "intimidation"?

...What imtimidation?  They're nerds.  I mean, especially & obviously the cosplayers.  As for the person who created you favorite show, game, etc., a lot of them are really cool & nice people, who like meeting the fans who support them.  Believe me, they probably like meeting the shy fans a LOT more than the obsessed, crazed fans.  And swag is always good.

Just remember, the people at these cons are nerds.  Except for me, these people are no better than you are!  8D

I've been to three cons.  The second one, I met Scott McNiel and he signed my Wily. 8D

Cons are awesome, no intimidation at all, since everyone there is a nerd.  Though, cons can be pricey, 'specially if you need to travel out of state just to attend.  Also, if there's stuff there you wanna buy, it'll get expensive.  Be prepared to save up a good bit of cash and to blow it all before the con is over.

Also, avoid the rooms with the CCG players.  They smell horrible.

I'm gonna be hitting AnimeNext in about three weeks in New Jersey. Staying with a friend of mine.

Planning on cosplaying as Reno, and when I hit MangaNext later on in the year, I'm gonna cosplay Vash the Stampede. This is also going to be the first con I really, really get involved in, as I'm (hoping to be) running a panel/workshop on improving one's role-playing skills, and I'm going to be selling a few pieces of art.

ill wait till the next NYC/NJ convention. :P

I almost went to comicon once, I forget why I didnt go. I think it was this choice between it and something else.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Actually, those are MangaNext 08's dates. MN09 has yet to be announced, so save your money for that one.

I think it was $25 to register last year. I have no idea what the price will be.
