This just a brief update, I'll be recording and uploading the next match tomorrow.
For those who are curious, the match is the rematch for the KOHN title that DrWilyII requested:
Smoke (defending his KOHN title) vs. DrWilyII vs. Sigma vs. Aile vs. ???
Match is standard elimination style. The only way to secure an elimination is by pinfall or KO. There won't be any controversy here. Hopefully.
Also, for those wondering, the "???" entry is a debuting superstar who signed up earlier today. The only caveat was that I had to promise them a spot in the match before they'd sign the contract. Who is it? Tune in and find out.
I've also decided to *try* and change my commentary style. Less play-by-play and more....anecdotes and talking to the audience, similar to how actual WWE commentary is right now. With the extra benefit that I don't have Vince McMahon yelling in my ear and feeding me lines the whole time. I don't know how well it'll turn out, though. As some of you might be aware, I don't have a lot of confidence and feel like I annoy people anytime I open my mouth for any reason other than discussing my job. I'll do my best to try and keep things entertaining, but....
Anyway, onto the big thing.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATIONLooking back through the first few pages of this thread, it was a lot more active back then, and I can't help but feel that it's kinda my fault. Aside from character requests (which, to be honest are practically dead in the water at this point) I haven't really tried to engage you guys/gals/omnicidal sheep gods much when I've been running this.
So.
If anyone has any ideas on what I can do to get people (be it you personally or just people in general) involved in this thread I would love to hear what you have to say. I've seen the community projects on this site (Kobun Madness, the various Comic Jams, etc.) and I hope that some day this could be a similar thing.
For right now, I'd like to ask for ideas and a possible contribution. This thread normally updates on a Monday, and I've been thinking about trying to do full-scale (PPV-style) events every month just like real wrestling companies.
What I'm asking for right now is name ideas for both the Monday "Show" and future PPV events that I could run.
There was one other thing but....
Fire Pro has a logo editor and the ability to create a custom ring. The ring isn't a problem (I intend to use RPM colours for the Ropes/Ringposts/Apron/etc. but at the moment the center of the ring would be bare as I don't have anything to fill it with.
Would any of you like to design a logo for this thread? I could use it as a header for the topic, and *might* even be able to use it as a ring-mat design. I have absolutely no artistic talent myself, and original patterns and designs often elude me.
In order to transfer a picture into the logo maker, I'd need a picture no larger than 128 pixels x 128 pixels (128x128) to work from. I should be able to overlay a 128x128 grid over the picture and then copy it into the logo editor from there.
Thanks for putting up with my rambling one more time. The next time I update will include a video, and I'll say thank you in advance for any ideas you guys can contribute. I really want to get the RPM community involved so everyone can enjoy this in some way.
