Felt like bumping this for a couple of reasons.  First off, was anyone aware that the Training Stage boasts cheesy rap lyrics in the JP version?  It's so bad it's good!

Coincidentally I just played it last night. The online is still as bad as ever. 2 second input lag. Why did it have to be on Wii???

At least MVC3 wont have shitty online since it's on a good console.

I'm glad it's on Wii for the sake of local play, lacking multi-consoles and all (and OBVIOUSLY whatever money I save now is going to 3DS).  It's a traditional fighter; proper online would only mean more shame in my getting my ass handed to me.

That said, yeah, input lag + Shoryuken move combinations is never a good thing.  But I learned the easy way to rip apart a Hadangeki spammer, and that's enough for me.

The LAN Adapter uses Wired over Wi-fi, so the connection's practically lagless, especially if both players are using one!

Yeah Lag really isn't much of an issue with the adaptor. Back when I played more Aqua and I have had some pretty crazy matches and lag has never been much of an issue.

Back when I played more Aqua and I have had some pretty crazy matches and lag has never been much of an issue.

You what's so funny about this post?  I didn't even have a LAN Adapter back then! XD  Shoot, we'd have flawless matches now!

All depends on where the bottleneck is, what kind of server load they're facing, and such.

Not really practical for me to wire my Wii, but it does get a DMZed connection, so that's as good a wireless setup as it'll ever get.

There is absolutely no reason what so ever the wireless would bottle neck the connection speed for an online game. If it does, then Nintendo is currently a bunch of blithering idiots like the world has never seen when it comes to electronic hardware.

Wireless is still factually inferior to wired though whatever the case may be, so SPECIALLY for fighters it's just better to have a wired connection, that goes for all consoles.

No offense, Solar, but I kinda doubt that one.  Certainly the connection itself is superior, but whether that yields a superior play result depends on if the system can actually take advantage of it.  If the system-to-router connection is already as good as the Wii can use and the problem is on the server side, all the connection tinkering in the world won't mean a damn thing.  If, on the other hand, your household is a hellhole of wireless interference, then yeah, that LAN adaptor would help.

Unless the Wii online is expecting a 3 meg connection or higher, then it doesn't matter.

The DS actually had far better wireless support than the Wii. Go figure.

I actually must disagree with that one.  I've known my Wii to be far more tolerant of my internet connection than my DS.  Every couple of months my DS decided that it no longer wanted to recognize my router's WEP key for God only knows what reason and I have to reset everything.  Further, I find Mario Kart Wii to be a *CONSIDERABLY* more stable experience than Mario Kart DS (although granted rage-disconnects over snakers on DS doesn't help any).

Do tell. I'm curious how you do it.
I depend on Zero or Karas for that, considering I use that team the most.

Having Zero to do the same spam, while charging the buster, then when they stop even for a second, let loose the shot. sometimes I do a double shot for added effect. then, HAVE AT THEE. I combo them to all hell in the air.

Its amazing how negating their saber waves with your own actually makes them try something else sometimes.

Or just use Karas moves to negate the wave. (either the spinning attack, or the extending whip thing, which can also lead into that good ol' wall slam if im close enough)

One thing I should note about the LAN Adapter is that it shines better when both players have one.  You could have the best connection in the world, but if you're fighting some guy with a terrible setup then you'll be dragged down to his level.  I just played a few matches which ranged from amazing to unbelievably slow.

I just pull the Shield Arm on the Zero spammers.  I love how they just stop and go "wat" after they get hit with their own wave.  Charge Shot works wonders too.

Fighting Zero spammers is fun, because when they realize you wont be beaten by their hadangeki abuse, they freak out.

i actually never thought of shield arm but it makes the best of sense.

PTX spammers though, are still a problem, mainly because if they catch you in a loop, you die. they take a  bit more skill to beat. 1st off, because they play a giant robot.
2nd off,  and this is PTX especially- he can grab you midair when you are falling, unable to move. he throws you into a wall, then catches you, and repeats until you die.

You can tech both PTX's and Lightan's throw really easy like a normal throw...unless the fight is [tornado fang]ing laggy which makes it a huge pain in the ass.

Frank West's Grand Slam does the job too. Counter it, then finish it with a real Mega Buster. It flys out faster than crap through a goose

Playing Bleach DS with JAPANESE gives the same lag as playing TvC with people IN MY OWN STATE. The end.
