I reiterate what I posted on GT about these videos... I'm not impressed with the music. At all. I sure hope for them that that isn't the final version of the music, because man that's bland. Half the fun of Turtles in Time was kicking ass to the kickass music. If the music isn't kickass anymore, then that's half the kickassness of the game gone in the wind. Doesn't help that it's based on the Arcade version, either. Couldn't they have made a port of the SNES version but with the ability to have 4 players? Now that would be worth it. I dunno, I'm more tempted to just stick with the SNES version as it stands... I'll make my decision once it comes out, though.

Are you sure they didn't just turn off the music while they played the game, edited the videos and put in another music track there just for the fancy show? o.o

Pretty sure... it's most noticeable in the "Four Player Gameplay" video, where the music switches a few times. The boss music itself is the same between both times a boss is shown as well.

Also, in past videos they just slapped in the SNES music, since that was before they had any music. Now we have something completely original, which I don't exactly like the sound of.

Hey, I could be wrong, and for the sake of the game I sure hope I am.

I know, this port is getting iffy, considering my SNES is still hooked up, works great, and etc.  I agree with Fxeni about the music.  I hope they improve it as well, cause as of now, I'm kinda meh about this.

it's not original songs; the songs were all remixes. and they didn't really bother me. but i'd like for this game to support custom soundtracks, anyway. imo every game should have that option.

by the way, while this was supposed to be released next week, it's now been bumped down to August 5th. [tornado fang] you, Splosion Man. Explodemon looked better.

also, anyone think the $15 price point is a bit much?

Lack of kickass boss music = failure.  I agree with Fxeni, half the game's awesomeness is at stake right there.  If they don't step it up prior to release, I'll be happy to stick with the SNES.

Oh I'd take her pizza!
If you know what I mean.

But yeah, this is kinda weird. And no Wii version? I mean yeah, I've got PSN $$$ that I need to figure out what to do with, but is this worth it?

I will say that they added some dialogue, which is actually a very nice touch the original could have used. Other than that...hey, here's hoping TMNT IV gets on the Virtual Console!

Depends on the ass. Depends on the cheese. They both can be really good, or really bad! And neither ages well after a point. And neither look good if they're lumpy, but if they're well-defined, then it's a sight to see. 8D

You know, that's quite a few similarities. If you see me in the r/e/vival thread (or any other thread) refer to a lady's "cheese", you know what I'm talking about.

Huh... they are remixes, now that I relisten a few times and pay close attention. Still sucks though >_>'

I'm starting to think so... unless they add something new that's actually good. Not getting my hopes up there though, that's for sure.

Just hit the PS3, and I got it!

...but is it just me, or are the controls EXTREMELY wonky? And what happened to the music?

Sensitive? Holy heck, I wish I could get it to respond!

~Double jump rarely works
~No manual dash
~Extremely hard to throw and slam
~Hitboxes are nigh discernible
~Attack strings can't lead into throws and slams
~Turtles are vulnerable to being hit again and again, creating a lock

This is crazy. Yeah, I did finally beat Hardcore (Shredder was easy), but **** that was hard. Leatherhead, pure single hit and run.

Donatello is pretty much the only way to beat Hardcore thanks to range.

looks like we got another one who was expecting the SNES version. the Arcade version didn't have a manual dash either, and also throws and slams were random in that version. i'd bet getting in a lock was an Arcade thing too.

for double jump, you have to doubletap the jump button very quickly.

I wasn't expecting the SNES version, but you think they'd tweak some archaic controls? Thankfully, I've either figured them out, or found workarounds:

Manual Dash
- Okay actually, no, this is just inane. I don't have a workaround for this except the Special Attack, and that still doesn't give you REAL distance unless you're using Donatello.
Throws and slams - Should be an input. It's strategic. Yeah, you've got screen clearing power, but only on two axes. Use it wisely, or else you'll be open to attack from 2-6 other directions.
Locked - This is an ancient arcade tactic, and should have been fixed, but fortunately it only really kicks in when there are Rock Soldiers or THOSE BLASTED HELIFOOTS. Again, Donatello.
Double Jump - You can only do this at the height of your jump? Pffft. What a load.
