Just to clear this up, this is only a manga artist's view.
In the Rockman 6 manga, Centaur and Knight are officially a couple.
With Knight's defeat at the hands of Rockman, Centaur's heart broke, and swore revenge for her fallen love.

Canonically, he is a man.  besides, are you going to take "the new adventures of rockman" or whatever that Portuguese/Brazilian(whatever,) manga was called to heart also? the mangas are lisenced by Cappy. they dont have to follow Cappy's story though. :P hence why the X mangas have Zero knowing Eagle from before. (which was actually later adapted into IHX.) and X getting his armor helmet from Zero. (who probably got it from the capsule in the airport I guess...)
