Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN seems to be coming true. Recently, a preorder for a Marvel vs Capcom Official Arcade Stick appeared on the website www.shopto.net. Then, www.xbox360achievements.org posted the achievements for Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the Xbox Live Arcade. Technically, this is all rumors and speculation until Capcom officially reveals the title (which if they do it would probably happen at Captivate '09) but the evidence seems pretty strong without them.

Anyone thinking that a HD Remix is possible? If the achievements are true then it is having Online at least. Capcom has said that they wanted to make more HD Remixes, and Marvel vs Capcom 2 is popular, so why not?

They would have a heck of a time trying to rebalance MvC2, that's for sure. It's more likely just going to be a port, but if they actually do make an HD Remix, then I'm all for it.

The achievements list uses the original sprites, so no HD Remix. Besides, it'd take freaking forever. Remember how long it took for SF2HD to be finished? Double that time plus more, and you've got how long making a MvC2HD would take.

Also, it is certain that this will be out before July. It has to be out before EVO.

Didn't know that. Still, I think that if it was an HD Remix they'd use the HD sprites like with SF2, but that's just me.

yeah, i don't think it will be a HD remix either, just a simple port.

but if it was an HD remix, i guarrantee Morrigan's sprite would not have changed.

As well as the others who appeared in fighters. Platformer game characters on the other hand.. But I'm glad my PS3's going to see some use again.

If it's a port, the single most important thing will be, if it's based off of the Naomi/DC version, or the (inferior) PS2 or Xbox ports.

This will be what could make or break the game for some people. Because if it's not the former, it won't make a difference to the people who want to be able to finally play the "legit/tourney-viable" version of the game and/or finally retire their DC.

...On the other hand, just because it's not HD, doesn't mean it couldn't be remixed, all the same. If they had a lot of time to work on this, they might have been able to go back and actually try and fix the game (more like just shifting tiers around, but I digress). That much, would definitely get me interested in playing this game again. Otherwise, I'll have plenty of other FGs to be playing this summer.

Well, the ESRB rating was around October wasn't it? I assume they have been doing something during all this time. They could have been working on it before it was rated too.

You'd think so, but even that much is still iffy.

After all, EVO is still a platform that is used to try and promote/sell products, just as much as it is a gathering for the FG scene's best and most curleh mustache'd to gather.

So, in other words, the version being at EVO is simply a clear indicator by Capcom to try and sell the game to the hardcore crowd, as well as possibly best see if the game is viable. Whether or not that means it's a "remixed" version of the game, or just a port of either the Naomi/DC or Xbox/PS2 ports, is something that will just have to remain to be seen.

Well, given how there's plans to make what basically is a "Marvel X Tatsunoko" anime in two years, I'm sure there's plenty of love to be had for Vs. in the future. Capcom's likely just making sure the Capcom and Tatsunoko sides are built up, until Marvel can come into the equation later...

You know, I was going to rule out an HD Remix, but it's steady work for those artists. And lately, Capcom has been extremely hesitant to straight port anything without doing something to it.

Technically it will be in HD either way, as all Xbox games have to have HD. Whether or not it is an HD Remix has yet to be seen. Oh, and guess what? In addition to Arcade Sticks, it is also getting Fight Pads like Street Fighter IV.
