Yeah, but all the forms will be in HG/SS (and Rotom's will no longer require a special event), so I'm content to give Platinum the finger.  Just have to be sure to find/hack an Arceus that can give birth to Origin-Giratina, and I'm covered.

Well, I guess having a Shaymin is a pretty good deal as I'm still playing Platinum as well.  It still sucks that you can't wi-fi with Rotom's forms, though.  I'm actually working on a doubles team right now, and I'll be happy to battle anyone interested in a match when I'm done!

Cool.  I'm actually more interested in doubles than singles right now, especially with Smogon doing crazy stuff with the tiers.  Doubles transcends tiers, and requires different strategies altogether.  It's actually a lot harder to play than singles because strategies are much more complex and harder to think up.

That's why I like it.  More interesting, and a faster pace.  It may be harder to master, but it's easier to come up with something creative, and also easier to take advantage of your favorites since, yes, the tier system is truly screwed by Doubles.

Got me a quiet one, but I wasn't worried about nature in the first place.  Caught it on the 2nd Ultra ball, though, I honestly thought it would be a bit more challenging. 

In other news, I've almost got my doubles team finished, but now I need a Dragon Scale.  I hate these items that are only obtainable through wild Pokemon holding them...

I've gotten into a strange habit of catching legendaries in Pokeballs that match their colors. Don't know why...

Crud, I just had a horrible experience involving Pal Park.  I migrated over my modest Horsea in order for it to participate in a RD team.  After getting it all EV trained and such, I chose to evolve it to a Kingdra.  Imagine my horror upon learning that it's ability had changed from Swift Swim to Sniper.  Now I've got to re-do the entire process!

Unfortunately it is, I just googled it.  Apparently any pokes traded from P. Park have a 50% change of changing abilities upon evolution.  This only applies to pokes who had one ability in generation III, but have 2 in generation IV, like Horsea (who gains Sniper).  This seriously sucks, though, because now I'm breeding these things to be absolutely certain that this doesn't happen again.  At least I can breed the moves my Kingdra had onto the offspring, but this is still going to take awhile.   

Note that if the Pokemon you bring over has no evolutions, then no foul there.  But, if it evolves, I guess it's advisable to save before you do so, in case it decides to pull a switcheroo on you.

I don't see why you didn't save beforehand, check after evolving, etc etc.
I would assume most people do that after evolving a Pokémon.

Meh, I've got another Modest Horsea that I'm already done EV training (my, that was quick).  This one was born and raised in Sinnoh, so it won't switch up on me.  I'm just mugging wild Horsea until I get my hands on another Dragon Scale.

EDIT: Dragon Scale GET!  Compound-eyes really helps with those wild hold items.
