I was talking about GTS.  Everyone goes in there thinking to Seek right away, and freaks out at insane requests.  Don't.  Put up a semi-rare breeded Pokemon as I outlined above, and request any old Chikorita.  I've already gotten a couple starters that way.  It shouldn't take long before someone responds, and if the Chikorita sent to you isn't to your liking, just have it shack up with your favorite Ditto and breed until you get a good one.

Seriously, in future games you should be able to GTS anything after the National Pokedex.  Or at the very least count online matches in the "Seen" section.

Here's my UU team; they're all EV trained and ready to go, so if anyone's interested in having a battle, let me know!  I still need to get a few items from the Battle Tower, but I'm otherwise ready.  Interestingly enough, Smogon has apparently dropped the BL tier from the D/P section.  A lot of Pokemon have been dropped into UU now, which shakes things up a bit.

So I was just breeding Clamperl, and the very first one I hatched was shiny. And modest. And with an SpA IV of 2.

at least you have a Shiny to trade. My only shiny is a Gliscor that I traded someone with.

I've kind of given up on making a team and raising it. Granted I can actually do something with my team now, it's more fun to just make them on paper since I don't have to do the same thing for so freaking long (seriously, YOU train 3 or 4 Pokemon by beating the same one(s) over and over and over and over again just to get their goddamn EVs that you need, and then you have to go and beat about 2-4 different types of them to complete the other half; it gets insanely boring, especially because there's no merit due to no one else really caring about WiFi battles thanks to Shoddy).

Either way, it seems like forever, especially when EV training newly hatched Pokemon.

30 per pokemon. Y'can get a stat to 100 through vitamins, and power item + pokerus gives you at least 10 per fight. 16 fights to get one stat to 252, then 16 for another. Then another 1 for your last 4 in hp or whatever.

So 33 fights. Less if you fight tougher pokes so you get more than 10 EVs per fight. A lot less if you're going for a spread other than 252/252/4, 'cause you can use more vitamins.

It's not that hard.

Depends on the area you're in. Not every place has just one Pokemon and it's perfect for EV training, so you actually have to keep an eye on it. Then after one is done, you have to do it again with the others and you repeat the process. 100+ battles later, you have your team that no one is going up against except for a select few that don't make the effort worth it.

2 things: 1, why Carnivine as your Grass type? why not use Roselia/Roserade? 2. Once you evolve Chimchar all the way, it becomes a beast.

On a random side note, if you want Haunter and Machoke to evolve, I'll help you out.

Carnivine, cause I often choose the strange lookin' pokemon.
Carnivine, cause I often also DON'T Choose the same pokemon my rival ever chooses to use.
Once I noticed he used Starly, I swapped for another bird.

I was using Roselia as my grass type until I noticed the best friend/rival was using it, then I caught Carnivine and swapped out.
Since he's so ugly, yet somehow...cool.

and my Haunter, Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler (not in use right now.) don't need evolving for quite some levels still.
And I'd actually need Wi-Fi in this area, which isn't happening anytime soon. (Lives in the boonies)

Carnivine is way cooler looking than Roserade. Roserade's ugly as hell.




They're still infinitely inferior to Meganium, though.
