Sure, I may be picky, and I probably couldn't kill any living thing I come across, but that's better than doin something I'll regret once I'm rescued and tell my grandkids the tale.

First, I'd refrain from eating anyone. Next, I'd look for Avocado tree's. Avocado's have all vitamins and nutrients needed to keep someone alive. Then comes fishing for food, fishing by means of a thick twig and a carved rock or tying a knife to said stick isn't hard. Then comes getting a bucket or canteen of sea water and making a fire to boil the water over to make it drinkable, drinking sea water only causes you to die that much quicker. Then would come setting up settlement which, can be done with leaves and sticks, with flint rocks. Last would be making sure there are people standing guard in case any wild animals approach.

Which... the last one would be hard because I'd be hard to trust anyone on these forums to not eat all the food while people are sleeping.

I'd rather hunt for fish. Make a big fire for a sign. If there's trees, I'm going to make a house like how Marty did in Madagascar.

That could take weeks. However, I would probably hunt for the most edible breed of fish, before eating them. I wouldn't want to die in the hands of a posionous Sea Slug. probably make shelter in case of a storm, then make a raft to sail back into the mainland, and pray that I survive and not wind up in enemy territory.

When I think about it, many of us is robotic so food is not necessary.

If this was dealing with our IRL personas, then... I'd start by catching things to eat. Bugs, crustaceans, fish, various critters... There's quite a bit of food out there, you just gotta be brave enough (or desperate enough) to eat it. And know what is edible and what isn't.

Unless we shipwreck on a sandbar. But then again, there's fish. However, unless we figure out a way to filter [acid burst] or desalinate the seawater, the dehydration would kill us long before we resorted to cannibalism.
