Even though it doesn't technically use Friend Codes (THANK YOU, CAPCOM), I figured it'd be a good idea to add Monster Hunter Tri names/IDs.

Feel free to add your player name even if you don't have your ID handy.  You can search by player name, the ID just helps keep it more accurate.  You also might want to note game version (since it is sadly region-locked), and possibly if you have Wii Speak or a keyboard handy.

I forget my current HR but I know I'm still in single digits.  Maybe 7-ish.

And yeah, I'm pretty well hooked.  But I only got the game last week, and lots of real-life crap has been happening.  >.>

Dunno how I missed this last time, but while DS friend codes are saved to the game, they check the ID of the system you're playing on every time you connect (Nintendo evidently forgot they had this technology on the Wii, as all Wi-Fi Wii games outright forbid transferring save data).

If you play on a different system and connect to Wi-Fi, the game will reset your Friend Code, after a warning message.  However, if you previous DS is AT ALL workable (ie: busted screen, or something), you can transfer your Wi-Fi ID to a new system in order to preserve your codes.

Usually I just hook up to the lowest-numbered Rookie server that isn't completely full.

Currently HR 17.  One Urgent Quest to go before I match you.  Also, just picked up a USB keyboard two days ago.  Solely for that game.

Amen.  Easier for EVERYONE.  There's no excuse for Nintendo to have not already been doing that on the Wii, having to re-register the same person for different games drives me bonkers.

On registering friends, I wonder how can complete the process I cannot connect to other peoples Wiis without some confimration or email.

For a Wii-to-Wii registration, both friends must register the other's code, and you must both connect to Wi-Fi at some point.  It doesn't have to be at the same time, it's just that new friends will remain greyed out numbers until your system confirms via Nintendo's servers that your friend has registered you as well.

Emails should only be involved if you're adding an actual email address to your Wii's Address Book, which to my knowledge no game requires.
