That's a nice way to start an anniversary of a show that's been for awhile now, good start. Let's see if they can clean out any pontentail errors they had in the origional series..

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

So, will the intro look better than the actual episodes?

Immensely!  From what I understand, it's basically a re-release of DBZ, but they cut out a lot of the filler.

STM

Is it bad that I cheered when I saw Farmer with Shotgun? That pretty much validated the whole show for me.

Also, it seems the actual episodes are just the originals touched up to look better (animation was cleaned up, destroyed cels redrawn, grain removed, etc.) I admit I was expecting a redrawn series similar to how the opening was, but I can't say I'm disappointed.

Also, I loved the little summary of Bardock and DB at the start of the episode.

Well same here, that's my definition of "remake".

But now that I think about it, it's good the way it is. Anime nowadays doesn't seem as appealing as it once used to be. Many animes seem far too clean to me. Older stuff IS grainy and dirtier... but it has a charm to it. I liked that.

Gaia

Well, at least a certain character with a split personality disorder makes a comback, Launch, but could be for eye candy.. >.>
And it could be STM, but then it might be a series re-write. Time to cut the crap outta that fur, folks!

So I just wantched the opening of DBK and my God, the nostalgia rush. XD

Something that the opening really showed me though is that the first arc of the series was the best in terms of details with the fighting animations. I was rewatching some of the older DBZ episodes & movies recently and noted it, but never really came to a conclusion until I saw this.

Also, farmer with shotgun... XD

What can the farmer defend his property? his rake? That's gotta be funny. I bet Launch gets edited into the episodes, because she was lacking even though she was a major character, to please the fanboys.

The rush is bigger when you notice how they reference the old intro in the new intro, it was freaking sweet.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

Gaia

Even the ED is full of nostalgia, oh my! This is gonna be a good re-watch.

Protoman Blues

You know, watching this makes me really wish that the DBZ: BT3 game had playable online matches, or that they make a DBZ: BT4 with playable online matches.

That, and I so love the Kaioken Attack.

STM

I guess you'd class BT3's current online system as largely unplayable? =P

Protoman Blues

Pretty much, unless it's improved from the last time I attempted it!  XD

Quote- While not in the above announcement, other reports are noting that the number of episodes is being reduced from 291 to approximately 100
Hell yes, that'll sure as hell make it more watchable.

Protoman Blues

But that means less constipation.

Guess they were given a diet of prune juice this time 8D

Kieran

Interesting... that new opening is pretty sweet.

The concept of Dragonball Z without the rampant filler and plot stalling that makes it so notorious is definitely an interesting one.

Commander Shepard: *stares blankly at a video of scantily clad asari dancers* ...What kind of hotel is this?
Liara T'Soni: It is a luxury resort with an... exotic edge.  Azure is slang for a part of the asari body in some places on Illium.
Shepard: Where?
Liara: The lower reaches, near the bottom.
Shepard: I meant, "where on the asari body?"
Liara: So did I.

I know what you mean.
"all because its newer doesnt mean its better."
the older grainy stuff has I dunno... a feeling of more depth to it, if you know what i mean.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Waifu

It is going to be difficult to imagine Dragonball Z with 100 episodes to be honest but I will watch the remake. Now onto Sailor Moon!  8D

Cherrykorock

I'm half and half on this one, I've always wanted to see a better version of DBZ and this suffices.
Also 100 episodes, I really liked some of the filler episodes, I guess I'll just have to wait and see how good it is.
Though I can always just watch the older episodes, it's not like they're going away. =P

The intro did kick ass.
Reminded me of the Budokai game openings!

The Drunken Dishwasher

after reading this.

100 episodes doesn't seem so farfetched  8D

Shiki Tohno

I just hope the filler where Goku and Piccolo learn to drive does NOT get cut out. That single episode made most of the series for me. XD

I agree as well.  That episode is priceless!

Didn't we already promise to murder whoever decided to cut it if that happened just one page ago? It still deserves to be repeated though =P
