The wraparound jacket band on the 20th volume of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga will confirm on Friday that a new television anime series is in the works. A new anime series was a topic of much fan discussion for several months, but it was thrust into a more public spotlight last month when a management document was purportedly leaked from the BONES anime studio. The document listed Fullmetal Alchemist animator Yasuhiro Irie as "Hagane 2 kantoku" (Iron/Fullmetal 2 director).

A new commercial for FMA 2 was released, showing a few scenes from the anime. Not much info is known about it so far. Right now, we can only wait and see...

Hopefully this won't drag out too long. If things last too long, they get boring. Look at Inuyasha.

Better example would be DBZ. Which graduallly got worse the longer it got.

I'm actually hoping this stays a little closer to the manga storyline.

Funny you mention DBZ, that's another series that's gonna get a re-release this April (now in glorious HD and 50% less episodes!

They're taking their sweet time w/ the Evangelion movies though...

as for FMA 2, I will watch it from ep.1, but what I can't wait is when Wrath beats the [parasitic bomb] out of Greed

All I hope is that they stick to the anime names. It is confusing enough when Greed is Wrath or something like that. Manga and anime are not really agreeing.

Are you fukken nuts? That was one of the most epic scenes in the manga -- Mustang defeated, his ass kicked six ways through friday, and just about to be sent to the next county by Lust, and then he frickin' CARVES a transmutation circle on the back of his own hand with a piece of debris and goes "No [tornado fang]ing way I'm dying alone. If I'm going, you're coming with me" and starts pulverizing her with his fire alchemy -- if memory serves, he'd already cremated her around 65 times before I either stopped reading (because I couldn't find the manga anymore) or he got help, I don't remember which came first.

Man, I got a long way to go on the manga side and has it finished yet/ Anyway, FMA 2 must follow the manga or it will be just another sequel to a surprisingly annoying show. I want the same lightheartedness that the manga had.
