I always thought that he took Sigma's saber from X1.

Or is that true?

Serges gave it to him when he rebuilt him.

Rockman Online I think? or was it Zero Collection? said it was in case he ever lost his buster functions again, since he lost his X1 buster functions when he gave X his buster/buster parts.

It was Rockman Online.

Zero Collection was the one that told us that X6 was canon.
