Rockin' Android, the doujin localization company that brought over doujin games outside of Japan like Flying Red Barrel -Diary of a Little Aviator- and SUGURI Perfect Edition for PC, and Crescent Pale Mist and Acceleration of SUGURI X-Edition for PlayStation 3, is bringing more doujin gaming to Steam starting with Gundemonium Collection.

For those of you who don't know about Gundemonium Collection, it is a collection of three bullet hell shoot 'em up titles: Gundemonium Recollection, GundeadliGne, and Hitogata Happa. These games were originally released in Japan for Windows PC a long ago by Platine Dispositif (you might recognize them as the doujin circle behind the Metroidvania game, Bunny Must Die ~ Chelsea and the 7Devils), though Rockin' Android brought these three game in English on PC and much later on PlayStation 3. Although the Steam version of these games isn't just a port of their earlier releases of these games; some of the bells-and-whistles thrown into the Steam version will feature arranged music by DM Ashura and Woofie of the DDR, Beat Mania IIDX, and 02Jam fame, GundeadliGne will feature online co-op play, Steam leaderboards and such.

Doubt many people will pick up on these games (unless you're a shoot 'em up aficionado or a fan of doujin games, or both), but it's nice to see Rockin' Android bring over obscure and rare gems onto Steam, like Carpe Fulgar for bringing over Recettear and Chantelise. I'm hoping Rockin' Android brings more doujin games onto the service.

How's the translation? Does it stand up to CF's work?

Well the only game from Rockin' Android that I have access to is Acceleration of SUGURI X-Edition on PC and I've played it a little, so far their translations is about is good as Carpe Fulgar's. Sara J. Leen, one of the translators at Rockin' Android, has been doing fan-translation since the she worked on the original SUGURI before she got employed by the company.

Now for an update!

Our first Steam release will be a doozy, the Gundemonium Collection will be available for download on Steam on September 27, 2011 for $9.99 USD. It will also be possible to purchase the games individually for $3.99 USD each. That’s not all. To further mark this momentous occasion, we’ve added some great new features, exclusive to the Steam release. They are as follows:

● Optional remixed and enhanced in-game soundtracks by DM Ashura (of Dance Dance Revolution fame) and talented up-and-coming artist, Woofle, are now included. The new soundtracks have the enthusiastic approval of the series’s creator, Murasame!
● We’ve upgraded GundeadliGne to include solid online cooperative-play support through Steam. Previous versions only supported local play, including the original Japanese release!
● Steam achievements will be included with all three games; for when you feel the need to achieve.

Stay tuned for more info!
