Mega Man Zero: If they had stuck to original plan for the X series...

Zero was supposed to have his own series on the SNES and was to be the main character but they decided Zero would not be recognizable so they created Mega Man X with Zero as the co star but nevertheless Zero ironically became poular and even had his own series on the GBA. It is not to say that Zero isn't awesome but still why couldn't stick with that? how it would have been different if Zero was the main character?

If Zero was the main characters, all of the Reploids would have gorgeous, flowing, blonde hair. And they would all be traps.

Zero would be a bit less popular. He was the foil to X in a lot of ways, and if there's no one else to really compare to, he ends up being less bad-ass than he is now (by that I mean, we see him do lots of awesome stuff, and yet, there's no one else to compare to, and while he is awesome, if there's no other main character to show the difference in power or skill or whatever, you'd think it'd be more like standard bad-assery than what we've seen). Not to mention the phrase "he's been resurrected more times than Jesus" ends up being false since, well, he probably wouldn't have died anywhere near the amount of times he has so far(how many times has X died?).

Zero would act like X does, and some other character would fill Zero's old spot. Or, the "foil" spot wouldn't exist at all, and it'd be just Zero against the Mavericks.

Alternatively, Axl would get Zero's old role, and eventually get his own acclaimed series.
