Sega Genesis and CD

i just got a sega genesis w/ sega cd built in and i dont know how to use the cd part

Well, the CD attachment looks like you may have to push the button to open, and to close you are gonna have to press it down, but not too hard. Then you are gonna have to turn it on VIA the Power button on the Genesis.

Well, maybe you didin't put a game in there? maybe that's the problem.

of course i put a game in there and i turn it on and i get a black screen as if i didnt put a sega cartridge

Do you have an extra AC Adapter?
You need to connect it to the Sega CD, because it doesn't get power from the Genesis.

Then try plugging it in, to see if it works.

the sega part works i put a game in and i play whatever is in it like sonic or MK

so if it's just the sega cd...does a regular cd work? or are you just having problems with the games?

the cd doesnt turn on do anything but i it was genesis i can play fine
