Dragon Quest 8

This game has been sitting on my shelf for years, so I finally decided to play through it.

I just started exploring and I found a T-Rex with an axe right next to the starting town that kills me in one hit.  Other than that, it seems to be pretty cool.

That T-rex could become your pet monster if you defeat it btw.

Is it that way for all the monsters running around the map area?

So far I've found a bat and a guy riding on a slime.

Right now I'm dumping all my skill points into Spears and Axes, because apparently that's what I need to kill Metal Slimes.

They're sure are! that Axesaurus is one of main monster member for good half of game.

I recommend collecting rock golems family if you want an overpowered monster team.

Oh and... *snatch gif*

I'll have to check that Pokemon stuff out.  I'm going for a 100% game, like always, so I don't want to miss any monster buddies.

iirc, you can't collect all of the monsters, I think you could only choose 12 or something.

Oh and do dumps all the points into those two weapons, I regretted balancing my weapon points.
(leveling up is sucks in this game, very. I finished the game lvl mid 40)

Yeah, that's why I stopped playing after I bought it.  I forget how far I got, but I screwed all my skills up big time.  I punished my game by making it sit in the corner of my shelf so it could think about what it had done.

Good thing I looked at the Skills before I kept leveling up in DQ8 .

I still have to finish the Dragovian Trials though...I think I got to the Metal Dragon...
