Proto Man is just coolest guy that ever seen in my life even if he only makes a few appearances here and there (and got his [metal blade] handed to him in Rockman & Forte), he is cool. I rather they keep him a mysterious dude in the Classic series instead giving a story of his own but also they had like Model B or BX in the ZX series now that would be cool.

Personally, I always liked the concept of him being bad (as the cartoon and Mega Man 5 had, kinda') more than his role as a good guy.  I don't know, he just seems like a really good rival, way better than Bass (never really liked him).  I guess the mysterious, shows up when he pleases, Tuxedo Mask type role is neat, too.  As others have mentioned, he's got an excellent design with small touches that go a long way that set him apart from every one else.

The mysterious schtick is definitely a draw and I like the fact that the guy comes and goes as he pleases.  Shows up when you least expect it and when you think you know where he'll be, he's already gone.  Batman-esque stealth skills FTW.

I guess, what makes protoman so Awesome, is that he's so mysterious, you always wanna know more about him, no matter what series its from, but he was best in the Classic Series.

When I was a kid, I always wondered * Where is he going now? *
He always saves megaman, or fights him then disappears, and comes back later, and informs megaman, he always mysteriously knows everything and is unbeatable.

His shades and design makes him a pure god.

His appearance in Megaman 3 had quickly made me a fan of his, but afther beating Megaman 3, I had no word how cool he was [spoiler]Saving Rockman like this, arriving at the RIGHT TIME! perfect timing![/spoiler]

He simply is the coolest Rockman Character ever!

I've always liked Blues his whistle is catchy and his scarf is kick ass, plus his Battle Network counterpart is just as awesome.  Personallity I can't decide between him and Bass in the Classic series.
