I'm still reading that as "deadly firearms are okay as long as they don't do realistic things"

The point wasn't missed.  I just enjoy pointing out the logic in broad-brush assumptions.

Has everyone forgotten that Mario or a figurine of him could be shot in the face with real bullets in the Metal Gear Solid remake?

I did.  And I ask you this: if characters with guns aren't allowed to be in the same game as Mario, explain the Star Fox team Smash Bros.

Oh, wait those are fictional guns, so they don't count!

Nope, guns are guns. Turn them into Wii Zappers or something.

You heard it here, folks. Nintendo doesn't publish games that have/involve/imply the use of realistic firearms.

... of course, this is if you don't acknowledge the existence of Hogan's Alley, Duck Hunt, Advance Nintendo Wars, Super Scope 6, various arcade cabinets, Geist...

Well, Monterey was safe.  Only got 3-foot high swells over here, tops.

What scared me the most is that I suddenly remembered one of my coworkers was studying abroad over there.  I was relieved to know she was safe, and bamboozled to know that she didn't even feel it. :X

Man... just hearing about this makes me realized how unprepared we all truly are.

Ah crap.  Coastal Cali's on Tsunami Watch. Low level, but this is a chance I don't want to take. I'm packing a duffel of essentials and some irreplaceables.

Anyone on the Pacific coast will want to read this, just to be safe.

I just found out about this. Good lord... natural disasters are always scary, but this... holy [parasitic bomb].

Doc Oc? Do freaking want.  The man's got to be my favorite Marvel villain of all time.

... wait, are all of the Marvel DLC characters going to involve tentacles now? 8|

Gaming / The Art of Video Gaming
February 16, 2011, 05:19:45 AM
Wait what? Video games... a form of art?

Well, according to an upcoming exhibit at the Smithsonian dedicated to 40 years of video games as just that, that would be the case. Suck it, Ebert.  And the best part?  You get to decide what video games are showcased!

Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, Ikaruga, Skies of Arcadia, Bioshock, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Many... MANY more are contenders in 80 different categories.  So, sign up with just an email address, and vote for what I tell you to your favorites!

Got it.  Currently messing around in training mode to get a feel for the characters.  Haven't unlocked anyone yet, so the only spot on my team so far is Amaterasu.

PSN is Dei_Enyt, though don't go in expecting a challenge from me. =P

I'll just leave this right here.

... And I GUESS I could leave the source as well.

Even Hitler finds all of these dis-confirmations aggravating.

Great news for people who bought the Special Edition, bad news for regular edition buyers.
At the same time, getting the regular edition and buying the DLC will apparently cost less than getting the CE for just the characters.  So who cares?

PS3 myself. Don't have any particular interest in the 360.

A custom-built PC that set me back about 1700.  Hoo man, can't wait to see how fast this thing renders.

Oh, and Mario & Luigi: Partners in time.  Finally.

Epic Yarn.  I had to stop playing because the cake level was making my sweet tooth mad.

Amazing game, though.

Dei_Enyt

... oh yeah, I got a PS3 for Christmas/Birthday/Graduation.  As far as multiplayer goes I've got Soul Calibur IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, and ModNation Racers (got that from that Subway contest, whee).

Shoot me a message or something if you add me. I probably won't notice otherwise.

Also, I think he's voiced by Blum.
This is Taskmaster we're talking about. He just listened to Steve Blum and copied his voice. =P

Anyway, Taskmaster's the star of this reveal for me.  He's got a spot on my team now.

Can't say I'm surprised.  The only Wii games that sell en mass on this side of thia side of the Pacific are Nintendo's triple-A franchises and minigame compilations.

For the time being, interest lost. I ain't gonna bother with it unless a proper localization's done.

Off The Wall / Looks like I ain't a Capricorn anymore.
January 13, 2011, 08:55:23 PM
Someone added a 13th Zodiac sign, so that reshuffled the dates around.  The dates are as follows:

QuoteCapricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18 - May 13
Taurus: May 13 - June 21
Gemini: June 21 - July 20
Cancer: July 20 - Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 - Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 - Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 - Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 - Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 - Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 - Jan. 20

Assuming that this isn't total bs, I'm a Sagittarius now.
