So logically the original 'virus' from Zero's capsule could have been Roboenza, and the Mavericks that exist prior to the Roboenza outbreak when Zero was released were just from Cain's faulty chips.

Rockman Series / What happened between Mega Man 10 and Mega Man X?
« on: March 03, 2013, 10:54:18 PM »
It's one of the great mysteries of Mega Man fans. Why is there no trace of Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass and the rest in the X universe?
All we really have to go on is this translation from the 'sort of canon(?)' story from the Mega Man Zero collection.
http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/04/09/does-the-rockman-zero-collection-storyline-explain-everything/
"At least 200 years ago
The birth of X
When an incident occured where an unknown computer virus came from space and causes robots to become violent and riotous, Dr. Light completed the battle robot “X” worrying about the future of Earth. Hypothesizing X could battle robots infected by viruses, he gave X the perfect virus counter-measure. Meanwhile Dr. Light developed a great number of armors, but this presented the possibility of X becoming a threat to mankind. To confirm the safety of X’s cognition program, Dr. Light sealed away X in an analysis capsule.
1XX years ago
The birth of Zero
Zero was produced by Dr. Wily, who schemed at taking over the world. But he contained a flaw in his cognitive program that made him violent and unwilling to obey instructions, so Dr. Wily himself sealed Zero in a capsule.
1XX years ago
X is discovered
X is discovered by Dr. Cain, having been buried underground for 100 years."
So did all of the Mechanaloids get infected and kill each other, as well as try to slaughter the human race? Was Mega Man turned into a violent, crazy killing machine?
They -also- talked, in the Art Books, about how it was Dr. Light's fault. He created X with a 'suffering circuit' that was reproduced incorrectly by Dr. Cain, which means that the Maverick Virus didn't exist before reploids.
So were there two totally different viruses? And what about the Zero virus where people say it was created by Dr. Wily?
Proto Man had a nuclear power cell, so unless he was fully repaired by Dr. Light or another scientist of equal or greater skill he'd have run out of power. Auto had a cameo appearance in X3 which only confuses me MORE.
It's now canon that Zero was never released by Wily before he died, so it's unlikely that Zero killed the main cast.
There was an end to the 'robot rebellions' at some point in 20XX, which I originally thought had related to the original Maverick Virus, but with the whole 'it came from outer space' thing, I can't be sure. All I know is Zero was created AFTER X, and AFTER the origin of the first Maverick-esque virus.
Does anyone have any other information to add? Or some clarifications and/or theories?

Yeah, I was actually in contact with Shane Newville for a bit, wanted to see if he was willing to share the models he ripped. He told me -how- he ripped them, but never got back to me on the request to share the models.

Test walk cycle, I'd improve it, but I'm tired. Probably going to make the arms move less, do an open hand walk similar to the intro from Maverick Hunter X, maybe put in the sound.

« on: February 24, 2013, 08:13:57 PM »I could've sworn I read once a month somewhere (which makes sense given how we've received the first two games), but I can't seem to find it.
Oh hey, found this.

Japan and Europe have had their fun, now it's time for the North American eShop to get in on the action. Each of the classic NES Mega Man titles (that's 1~6) will come to said eShop beginning with the original Mega Man on December 27 - that's 10 days from now!
This will be followed by Mega Man 2 on February 7, with the rest of the games coming in regular intervals throughout 2013. You'll soon have the whole collection on one handheld!
For what it's worth, GregaMan and I streamed each of these games from Jan~June this year, and you can find those streams below:

Rockman Series / Trying to find an old Mega Man X fan comic (Sephy-Kitsune?)
« on: February 24, 2013, 07:59:09 PM »
There was this fan comic that I read, found it through the Bob and George forums, by a girl who I -think- went by Sephy Kitsune (or some other combination) that was a Mega Man X: Command Mission comic, hand drawn, cute writing, nice art style.
I also think it was hosted on the website of like...Taco-Girl or something? I can't seem to find it, possibly not around anymore, but I'm sure that there's some place that archives all kinds of stuff on the internet and this might be one of them.
Anyone that can help me would be greatly appreciated.

There were quite a few in the indie game market. Mostly fighters, and shooters.

I went to my local comic book store today. Apparently he can't seem to order Volume 2, but I did put myself down for the 12 issue cross over with Sonic. Gonna be the first sonic comic I've purchased in -years-.
If I can enjoy the cross over, I can probably enjoy the series. So I'll order the 1, 3 and 4 paper backs from the comic store and the 2nd online if I have to.

You refuse to hook your PS2 back up, but want to play a legal version of Command Mission, which is only available on PS2 or Gamecube.
....doesn't the question actually answer itself?

X / Re: Rockman X is Over

X-Over did well in Japan, it's North America's own seething rage that's preventing Capcom from releasing any new Megaman content (We apparently scare them) and probably the reason they killed off Legends and Universe, because strictly Japan sales isn't enough to carry a game.
Console releases need a good North America market to survive because of our higher middle class income compared to China and India (the other two leading game markets), whereas iOS games do well world wide since they're super cheap and -everyone- owns a cellphone in those other areas.

Fan Creations / High res Vile 3D model for Megaman Machinima
« on: February 04, 2013, 01:56:30 AM »
So I'm a student of animation and game design in the second semester of my second year, and we've been working a lot more on our portfolio and demo reel content, as such I've decided to combine my passion and one of my loves.
Animation and Megaman. Specifically Megaman X.
I've played every main Megaman game, every Megaman X game (Short of X7 and X8 due not having a PS2 for a time) and most of the Battle Network games.
I'm sure we all know about the huge disappointments we've seen from Capcom's treatment of anything related to the Blue Bomber lately. The two cancelled Megaman titles and the only thing we've seen for the 25th Anniversary was a sponsorship of a fan game.
With that in mind I've decided that I'd want to do a project where I'd do the entire process. I'd write a script, story board it, create 3D assets and scenes, rig the models, and animate them.
This leads me to what I'm looking for. People who have or can pull some of the models from the PS2 games of X7, X8, Command Mission and, to a lesser extent, Maverick Hunter X and possibly Powered Up.
I'd be using them strictly as reference models and textures, wanting to touch them all up and keep them at a higher res then the in game ones.
Short of that I'd love if someone could show me how to rip these myself. I do know a few people have already begun since I came across the Zero, X, Axl and Met models in .OBJ format on this forum.
I've actually attached the Vile model I started working on a few hours ago to show people what I'm aiming for.
If anyone is interested please let me know and I'll tell you exactly what I'm looking for and in what priority. Any help is greatly appreciated and will be credited!

Yeah, I was personally hoping for the PSP, but I guess they won't need to upgrade the graphics TOO much if they stick it on the DS. It'll be an upgrade, surely, but not as much as it'd be on the PSP or a console.
