Oh, and Red's team sucks. Battle-wise, Cynthia and Barry have superior teams.
Only reason why people think Gen 2 is good is because they think its so awesome they can travel to another region and get more than 8 badges.

And Brock was pounded by an actual woman and not a Pokemon.Gary Oak was never 'Gary [chameleon sting]ing Oak', this was something made up by the fans that actually has little to do with his real character.
And the original Pokemon isn't all that good, it's that everything was new back then before the repeated a hundred or more times in the coming series. The only thing that would make it seem good is the nostalgia.
Though I doubt you were actually old enough to have seen it when it first aired, so I can only assume you're trying to blend in.
