Still, waiting for ROM dump. : /
Um, those songs are from the Demo version that came out on the Wii Nintendo Channel a while ago. o.o;
The Demo was also ripped into a ROM and the 2SF music can be easily ripped from it too. >v<

The demo's code already had OSS exclusive stuff in it that wasn't playable, and it was otherwise identical to EXE1's code (supposedly), so no excuse honestly =/
Yea, that was kinda cool. I'll be ripping out the battle chip/card images later though. ^^
Oh? The images were there too? I'd love to see the new cards :)
If they were in the demo, fans would have found them already. XD
It's better to hax the full game, so every battle chip/card can be found. ^^

Hmm.
At least the mugshots look cool. That Blues one would make a nice avaturr.
Can't say I'm really looking forward to this game right now. Maybe some spoilers will hype me up, as weird as that could sound.
Wait... i can see it... Vixy is ripping the audio from the game... :3
I was never really hyped for this game at all. It makes me disappointed in Capcom. Instead of making an planning new Games, they are rehashing old games with very little effort. If your telling me it was an original game, thats one thing, but a barely enhanced port of EXE1 with Star force Megaman thrown in for kicks? Seriously...
Maybe they are running out of ideas? Maybe they wanna see if people still like Exe? Maybe they want to revive Exe again since it sold 5 sequals?
Or Maybe they just wanna milk Exe a wee bit more.
I want a Megaman X9 or Megaman 10, or even better, ZX3. Hell, Legends 3. they could do a number of things. Even a new Star Force game for All I care. But Im tired of the rehashes. Im still waiting for them to make something NEW.
There's no point in bitching and moaning that you want THIS game or THAT game.
If Capcom wanted, they would make any of the games you mentioned... but it's possible they will not because of small profit, or some [parasitic bomb].
Do I need a Niconico account to listen?

- Prologue (Shooting Star-related)
- Game Start (skip prologue)
- Rock Star Colosseum
I like how in the prologue it goes from RnR sprites to EXE1-3 sprites. xD
Can anyone remind me, what are you supposed to do, when you meet Glyde? He gives me the access to Yaito's homepage, but I don't remember what the f- should I be doing?

I sent in the full 2SF set to the official 2SF ripping site at HCS. MP3 coming later. Hopefully tonight. :3
I hear there's a piracy protection in this game that makes so that literally every time you take a step you'll enter a random battle or something like that. Can you confirm that?

I sure fuckin' hope so. It better not turn out, that you meet with him after you beat the game. : /
That would be a waste of time... You know what though... I recall hearing about people here wanting Capcom to release the original EXE games on the DS. Well, they did and you guys [sonic slicer], I can understand when the game is completely the same, but its improved, using the enhanced gameplay of the later games. And you STILL [sonic slicer]. Graphics and Sound Don't mean everything, as long as the game is enjoyable it should be fine... At least the original theme is back.
*claps at epic speech*

*bzzt* Wrong, not counting Subaru, it's the same damn thing with one less row to add.
It actually is the same as the original. You get your HP back after every fight, so that's not changed at all. You keep you chips when you put them in the chip machines in Higure's Shop and reload the game. It's been hinted that ElecMan's stage is a little easier now. o.o </wii>
Meh, they could easly put EXE 2 and EXE3 or just EXE 2 and not just one game that you can finish in 2 or 3 days. Let's see what kind of secrets capcom still have for OSS.

Yeah, the biggest difference is the whole B button thing >_>, at least Twin Leaders had some nice extras, actually changed some of the gameplay, and it was pretty much two games in one.

And that reminds me of playing through the original game with a cheat code that made it so I got no random battles at all. That does make the game faster and the boss fights more challenging when all the abilities you have to use are what you pick up on the overworld, but eventually you run into characters who demand that you have 60 chips in your library and a level 30 MegaMan before you can proceed. >U<

It's interesting to compare this to the original game's chip list (http://www.rockmanpm.com/?p=exe/rockmanexe1/battlechips), because you can see attack ratings were changed all over the place, mainly increased, though ShadowMan's were decreased. GutsPunch and BreakHammer now do more than twice the damage they used to! (Does that mean BusterPunch is super awesome now?)
I still wonder what some of the Japanese names would translate to. I never did quite get what "Remobit" was supposed to mean.

Oh so wait, are the Armors still there, or were they really replaced with the character switch? That's what it looked like to me in a screenshot of the status screen.
Wait.
So there's a chip with Burai... do you actually get to fight him in the game?
That would be kind of sweet.
Oh wow, that Burai Animation... Damn you Capcom for wrecking intrest in this game by making it a Pile of [parasitic bomb]. Still gonna buy it because I don't have EXE 1 anyway.... >8| Nothing bad about it, but it could've used EFFORT. Hooray for Hipocrasy.
Burai's sprite...
Looks terrible...
And so basically, this is just EXE 1 with the reverse SF scenario? (aka instead of Geo finding Megaman EXE, Megaman finds him) all Clockman is is just a minor plot device boss?
Its amazing how when we just heard about this game, I figured that SF megaman would have his own story. As in, he get sent to the past and clockman was going to do some [parasitic bomb] and there'd be an entirely new final boss.
But noooo. Thats too much effort, isnt it.

Makes alot of sense.
Well, I just did the SSR scenario. Eh, it was kinda fun at least, and Clockman>most EXE1 bosses. Subaru's lock-on is kinda weird, you can use it with some chips that don't really need it (cannons, however unlike in his games, it doesn't even move him forward), but some that could use its help (elec ring chips) can't use it. That and the lock on only targets forward, no diagonals. EXE has the better buster, Subaru's charge only has one level and his buster fires slower (not to mention he can't move while firing).
Quote from: Flame on November 16, 2009, 09:19:49 AM

Wait until you hear this, they only reused the same sprites that one of Clockman's attacks uses, they didn't even care enough to actually give him an unique animation for his chip.
Subaru's charge shot does 30 damage, even when he shares Saito's buster levels. '>.>
But when you max out the Rapid level, it can be very deadly, specially against Dream Virus and some other bosses.
Hey, I just noticed the Chip List was updated with all the letter codes that each battle chip is available in. It looks mostly identical to the original list, only Geddon2 I was replaced with Q, a whole bunch of weaker chips had one letter replaced by *, Barrier is only available in *, HeavyGauge and QuickGauge are only available in * and the letter you buy them in, and most of the Recover chips' codes are completely different, when originally they were all ACEGL just like MetGuard.
Hmm, why doesn't MetGuard come in * code like in the later games? And wait, weren't some of the Navi chips supposed to have * codes too? I remember there being a GutsMan * in a preview. Now it looks like SkullMan only comes in D code, never S, and ShadowMan only comes in T code. Huh? Why T code? I understand they had too many S code Navis, but what could the T possibly stand for? Triple, as in Three ShadowMen or Throwing Three Shadow Blades? And why didn't they change anything to W so you could use WoodMan together with something else?
By the way, IceCube needs a carriage return after its codes on that page.
Burai has a well toned butt in those sprites of his. :p
I really hope this brings on a new era of EXE games, I enjoyed the series and would like to some some more installments, especially now that the DS system can bring so much more to the game's potential and can add to be bigger than the games on the GBA systems.

Those videos only showed me just how cheap and poor this game is overall. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if this was never brought over since it looks like a huge waste of effort.
And here I was thinking Geo would explore 20XX and screw around with the past a little, like a time cop of some sort before bumping into the MegaMan.EXE. That would have been a much more interesting and fresh take on the title, not a repeat of an 8-year-old game with some minor changes.

I think we ALL thought that Geo would have his own story. like, EXE1 + star force. I mean, with a cool name like Operate shooting star, and FUTUREMAN geo, you would expect that you start out as megaman, eventually meeting Geo, and then the story deviates from exe1 from there. with Clock man, and a new final boss. you'd expect as much.

I don't even need a new final boss, things should've gone like this IMO
-Meeting with Subaru happens early, not almost until the [tornado fang]ing end -__-
-Small scenario leading to a boss battle with SSR, and after the battle you can find him like any other navi in the internet instead of only being able to fight him once (either that or they should've let you rechallenge him through your PET, seriously -__-)
-From that point on game proceeds as normal with some new smaller scenarios caused by Clockman messing something up between the usual scenarios (maybe some during the EXE1 scenarios too).
-Clockman scenario after Bombman, he's not destroyed and escapes to fight you again during the usual ending boss rush.
-Fight Dream Virus as usual, but the ending also includes some SSR and the last scene in the game should be Subaru leaving with Misora back to their time.
-Then finally the post-game scenario should add Burai time traveling for some reason (with him it's easy to come up with plenty XD) and Subaru returning to stop him. Also a Forte and Burai double boss battle for fanservice.
Anyways, does anyone have translations for the conversations with Subaru? I'm specially interested in the one where they both show each other a photo of their mom >.> Also the one where Subaru discusses what it's like inside a PET XD
I was listening to AVGN - Nintendo Power.
And he said: Clockman.
Wait what, the Clockman?

The Coro Coro Winner.

The offical Capcom character.

And the Nintendo Power.

True XD

Mmm.. I would have preferred it to be a new story set in EXE 1.
Yeah, but we were told it was an EXE remake early =/
I would have liked to see Geo travel back and forth through time, fighting with MegaMan.exe in several of the series' scenarios, while taking out disturbances made by ClockMan.
(so, the order of the scenarios could be as random as: FireMan->JudgeMan->MagnetMan->PlantMan->etc.Man, plus a final or post-game scenario that takes place with Lan's kid)
In the end, we've got a BN1 port/remake game , so I guess there's not much point in me creating fanservicey ideas like that. It's fun, though.

Yeah, but we were told it was an EXE remake early =/
PU and MHX are also "remakes" This just isnt. It's a port + a little bit more. new mugshots, 1 new scenario,(late in the game mind you) new character,(gotten late in the game mind you) and a few new chips.
It is a letdown. When we heard "remake" we were thinking, new music, maybe new sprites, maybe even a second story. hell, maybe even a new Bn altogether. We heard it was an EXE1 remake, then we figured it starts out BN, then Geo comes into the picture, and it deviates from BN1 from there. maybe Geo has his own story.
But nooo. Just a mediocre port +.
Yeah I know, even what I had said would be much more acceptable.
To give people some context in an easy to digest form:
EXE 5 DS - Remake
OSS - Port with some "extras" slapped in.
I would still call EXE 5 DS a port, but with better extras.

5's more of a remake than OSS yes, but I'd still consider it only ports with great extras.
That's what I just said!
You said better, I said great, there's a difference.
Well, whatever, I'm going to start calling ShadowMan "TshadowMan", since apparently his name starts with T now.
So have you heard? Apparently OSS is already in Bargain bins.
http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2009/11/oss-already-in-bargain-bins.html
Okay, whoever IS NOT surprised, raise your hand.
*raises his own*
I will only be sad if we don't get an official English release!
I wouldnt want one. >~> I mean seriously. only if you havent played BN 1 would you want this game.
Hell I haven't, And I STILL dont want it...
I want it because I love Battle Network 1 so much that I would play it all over again, only slightly different next time!
You mean barely even slightly.
But hey, whatever floats your boat. :\

I drained StoneMan's full HP with the Omega Cannon PA~ (Cannon ABCD) ^.^ </wii>
Aha, I think I found the full information on this: http://chuppa66.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!FB9A48676951677F!362.entry (http://chuppa66.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!FB9A48676951677F!362.entry)
It appears that all the 5-code "Omega" Program Advances can now be made with only 4 chips, using either 4 letter codess in sequence, or 3 letters in sequence with the first or last chip doubled. But then the original 5-chip Advance combinations are also listed... Are they superior to the 4-chip Omegas, or is a 5-chip Program Advance just a waste of an extra chip now? I can't say for sure when I don't really know how to read Japanese.
By the way, I also found a rip of all the new music for Operate Shooting Star. http://shootingstar-rockman.blogspot.com/2009/11/mp3-2sf-rockman-exe-operate-shooting.html (http://shootingstar-rockman.blogspot.com/2009/11/mp3-2sf-rockman-exe-operate-shooting.html) So, all right, I've brought the thread back around to the original topic now!
Although I'd still like some confirmation as to whether GutsManV1 is the only Navi available in * code...

I sent in the full 2SF set to the official 2SF ripping site at HCS. MP3 coming later. Hopefully tonight. :3
But that's a seeeeeeeeecret topic!
Hmm, that sound effects collection was interesting. Is that how all the music in the game is made? Not one long sound, but many short sounds played over one another at various speeds in various patterns? I wonder how many were recorded directly from the Game Boy Advance and how many were only approximations.
