Yeah his family seems fine, his dad lost his man cave and workshop so 20 years of work went down the drain. The guy saved his computer but forgot he wasn't wearing his pants, since it was the middle of the night and he woke up to the fire and all, so he lost his car keys and wallet along with the rest of his stuff including some Star Wars sweat pants. Though he's taking it well and not panicking so that's good at least.

Trust me you don't want the Humble Bundle Neo Geo games...well you don't want the DRM free ones. They're all running off the shitty Gametap emulator and in certain cases, (Twinkle Star Sprites) they run worse than other emulators. Basically paying for a shitty out of date emulator with roms attached.

Other than MAME, the only other emulator I heard of that emulates Neo Geo games is Final Burn Alpha, but I've never used that one before.

So my dad bought a new VCR/DVD player which is more useful than most people would think since he doesn't really have Bluerays and he's so technologically inept that he wouldn't even figure out how to really use that Blueray player to get Netflix and stuff. I'm going to ask my mom if I can have the Blueray player or at the very least put the thing in my brother's room.

My mom is also pondering the idea of making my brother's room into a man cave for my dad.

Eh I honestly don't really give too much of a [parasitic bomb] about what quality I watch stuff as long as it sounds okay and doesn't look fuzzy. I mean I probably would still get Blue-rays anyway since I don't really have too many movies in the first place and DVDs are becoming less common.

Of course I wouldn't watch a VHS either for a multitude of reasons.

I honestly couldn't tell difference in quality with the Panty & Stocking Blu-ray/DVD set I got a long time ago between the DVD and Blu-ray version, but then again, there's a big difference my 40'' LG 1080p HDTV and my older brother's 62'' Sony 1080p HDTV (though I feel like his TV should be outputting at least 1440p or 4K), and I lack a Blu-ray player on both console and computer. If only I can rip the Blu-ray to watch 'em on WeedPlayer with SVP.

I had the Spirited Away DVD for years and loved it. But as soon as my imported Blu-ray version arrived, the difference in quality was staggering.

Perhaps it has something to do with the HDTV we have (I don't know the exact size, but it's huge). It might be harder to tell on smaller TV sets.

I just have a 32 inch LED TV.

Honestly HD TVs kind of look weird to me, I mean it gives me a sort of Uncanny Valley sort of feeling to me.
