Looks like GOG.com has rolled out the beta for their own client,
GOG Galaxy, an optional, DRM-free client that offers online multiplayer, achievements, chat, stat tracking, and all those other bells and whistles. Where's what you can expect from GOG Galaxy:

-One-click installs-You can finally go "Boop" and your [parasitic bomb] is installing. Now I gotta buy a big-ass touch screen TV/Monitor for extra satisfaction.
-Rollback (soon to be added)-Did the latest update [tornado fang] up your game? Now you can roll back an older, working version until a stable update comes up.
-Optional Auto-Updates-Don't want to be arsed to download updates automagically in case said update potentially fucks up your game, you can disable it if you want.
-Online Match-making-Wang Banging your friends online with dat old-school Shadow Warrior has never been so easy!
-Leaderboards & Stat-tracking-Now you can find out how many hours of your life you wasted playing Shovel Knight.
-Achievements-Wanted to get Achievements out of some old-ass DOS game? Now you can, but you don't care for Achievements you can turn that [parasitic bomb] off at your own leisure.
-Cross-platform Play-Want to play Unreal Tournament 2004 but your friend has the Steam version and yours from GOG? Now it shouldn't mean dick anymore as your can play with friends on GOG Galaxy and Steam.
-App Notification (soon to be added)-Having GOG Galaxy on will let you know when a game on your wishlist goes on sale for yo' broke ass, or a stranger want to be your friend, or someone gives you hate mail.
-Constantly Optimized-Unlike Final Fantasy XIII and Banzai Pecan.
-Privacy-These guys respect your privacy, so you're free
to play smutty animu visual novels without them knowing of paranoia with your personal info.[/spoiler]

-Online Match-making-GOG Galaxy will allow you to play online multiplayer games with old-school and newer titles.
-Leaderboards & Stat-tracking-Almost every game available on GOG.com can track your play time, along with other stats and in-game leaderboards.
-Achievements-You can unlock Achievements a lá Steam/Xbox LIVE/PlayStation Network on your GOG games if you desire.
-Cross-platform Play-Said to allow you to play games online, regardless if you're playing with someone who has the game in question on Steam or another digital distribution platform.
-App Notification (soon to be added)-Leaving GOG Galaxy active will give you on-the-spot notifications for invites, chat, sales on games in your wishlist, and the like.
-Constantly Optimized-Said to be lightweight and won't impact much on your CPU or leave big footprints in your system's memory.
