Hmm, I never heard of that.  I did read that the game only checks that Mario is falling when it decides it's the enemy that should get hurt, but that doesn't sound right to me either.  Surely we've seen Mario get hurt when diving into an enemy from the side?  Hmm, I dunno.

Actually you're right on the money. Quote TASVideos:

Quote
You don't need to land on the top of an enemy to kill it. As long as you're moving downward as you hit the enemy, you'll kill it. If you time it just right, sometimes you can even hit the bottom of the enemy. This is useful for killing enemies that seem to be too high to jump on.

So, I was wrong. It's still an awesome trick though.  8D

Doki Doki Panic was also a fine game. But I love 2-JP, just because it required some of dat skill!  owob

Still, Yoshi's Island still remains my overall fave "Mario" game. And the fact that Yoshi was able to lap up and spit out hammers with his friggin tongue made me smile. He must have been training! ^_^

Any way, thanks Vix!

Hmmm, favorite Mario game?  Man, that's a tuffy wuffy.  So many-a good memories.

It's...probably SMB3.  Unless we are including the many other various Mario titles, cause then it'd be Mario Kart 64, which is my 2nd favorite game of all time.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is gaming god. All other games offer up small sacrifices daily in the hopes of matching it's resplendent nature.

Commander Shepard: *stares blankly at a video of scantily clad asari dancers* ...What kind of hotel is this?
Liara T'Soni: It is a luxury resort with an... exotic edge.  Azure is slang for a part of the asari body in some places on Illium.
Shepard: Where?
Liara: The lower reaches, near the bottom.
Shepard: I meant, "where on the asari body?"
Liara: So did I.

Funny how we get the Ice Flower AND a Penguin Suit.

Let's see, Koopa shell, Boo Mushroom, Lakitu cloud, Kuribo's shoe...
Raccoon, Frog, Tanooki, and Penguin suits...

...

Bob-Omb and Cat suits.

Now as far as favorite Mario game, that really is a hard question because they are all A games, each with their own ups and downs. Now if anything is fair game, Super Mario RPG, but if it's platformers only...

I'm going to go with Super Mario Galaxy, although World is the "best".

Eh, to me, it's no different from how we had both a leaf that gave Mario 'coon ears and tail, and fursuit that gave similar abilities, plus the nifty thing of turning into a statue, back in Mario 3.  8D

Any way, the intro? 'Twas cute. And I'm liking how the Koopalings seem to each have their own vocal pitch. I was hoping Roy and Morton would sound like they actually have some nice bass in their voice.  8D

Point taken, but at least that had a general use.

These are both Ice-related. Weird.

Haven't seen them in action yet, but they remind me of some old SMB1 hacks that turned the fireballs into ice crystals and made them fly straight.

Yoshi's Island is my fav platformer.  I *WOULD* say SM64DS, if some moron hadn't decided that a super dragon shouldn't be able to grab Bowser's tail without wearing a hat. O:<

It is hard to pick one, though.  Doki/2, and Land also rank among my favorites.  In fact pretty much every Mario platformer is awesome with the exception of Sunshine.  And even that had its moments (forcing Petey to barf up water was pretty cool).

Intro is awesome. 8)

NSMBWii will be epic, because it features meat shields. You can eat the other players with your Yoshi too!

I did not know about the overworld maps! This truly will be the best Mario game ever. No two games will be the same, if only because of the multiplayer aspect. YEAH!
